Upload Hey,  Dumb question, but I can't find the manual, and my husband is away. How do I upload pics from my camera to my computer. We have a docking station. Please help.

Forget the dock. Get a card reader and use it to download the pics to a folder you create on your desktop.

The error indicates that the computer is not getting an understandable signal from the camera (or dock if you are using one). The solution will be in discovering why the signal isn't getting through, or deciding that the camera or dock is defective.

Verify that the camera battery is charged. Then turn all devices (computer, dock and camera) off. Remove every cable and wire between computer and camera. Unplug power to the dock.

Examine each connection carefully. Look for dirt, bent pins, loose connections, or anything "strange". Look at the bottom of camera too, where it sits on the dock.

Reconnect the wires and cables, power everything up and see if any improvement.

If no improvement and you have WinXP or Vista, Do a System Restore back to a date when the camera connection was working. Restart and check for improvement.

If no improvement, check computer update history. Have any Microsoft updates been applied since the last time the camera connection worked? If so back them off and check for improvement.

If no improvement or no MS updates, decide that the camera or dock are defective and return them. Unfortunately, electronics sometimes fail. If you like the camera, give a replacement a chance.

Take the memory card out of the camera and copy the pics through a card reader.

u ether need a usbcord or just stick your memory card in the computer.. something will pop up and say upload import pics..click on that then click import now...

you could try doing it manually, go to my computer open your camera, and select your pic files and ctr+c and ctr+v on folder where you want them to be or just drag them to my pictures folder or wherever you want

If your camera have a sd/mmc card just buy a sd card reader and plug it in your pc. it will transfer all your pictures to your computer.

Put the media card into a USB card reader on the computer.

didn't realize I had sent you the email.  I called Canon, and they were great.  With the use of my husband's identical camera, we determined that I hadn't formatted the new card I was using, not the little one that came with the camera which I first used.  It made the camera turn off every time I tried to upload (download?) the pics to the camera. The formatting is not always necessary with every camera, but it apparently is with this one.  Doing it was fast and easy.

Not sure if you have found a solution, but here is a link to the manual for your camera, download it and have a look at what they suggest.

If you already have the manual but don't have the software, you can download drivers for it from plenty of websites. Just type 'drivers for jvc gc-a33' into a search engine and you should get plenty of options.

check your usb drivers on the PC if they don't work you may need to upload new PC drivers, and cam/dock drivers

do you have permissions to add hardware to your PC
