It's a two stroke .. Mix oil to gas before you add gas to your tank.

I have a 1998 Yamaha GP 760 waverunner. 2 stroke engine. It's been sitting all winter. Not kicking over when I start. I read to use a premix instead of starter fluid, but what is the premix ratio?

Mary, you have to give a lot more information as to make , model , year, 2 or 4 stroke, capacity before anyone can answer this
modern 2 stroke engines use a metering pump for the correct oil/fuel ratio and it is not premix
and what is wrong that you need starter fluid in the first place
post again with all the information and some one will be able to help

What is the size and year model of my yamaha waverunner the hull id # yama31321394

Yamaha did not make the GP model until 97 and if the numbers you posted are correct you have a 94, that being said all yamahas up until 93 were either a 500 or a 650 so im guessing its not a superjet which is a standup so you may have a waverunner 3, Raider, Blaster, or a wave runner LX. What colors are on it? does it have twin carbs? there will also be a sticker on the engine cases noting engine size.

Where do i fill the engine oil on my 1998 gp 1200 waverunner

I looked at the manual located at: http://www.865-customz.com/manuals/98%201200%20gpr%20Owners%20Manual.pdf

According to this manual you have a two stroke engine. Two stroke oil is mixed with gasoline.

From Wikipedia:
Two-stroke oil (also referred to as two-cycle oil, 2-cycle oil, 2T oil or 2-stroke oil) is an engine oil intended for use in crankcase compression two-stroke engines.
Unlike four-cycle engines which have a closed crankcase, these lightweight engines use the crankcase as part of the induction tract, and therefore, oil must be mixed with gasoline to be distributed throughout the engine for lubrication. The resultant mix is referred to aspetroil.[1] The two-stroke oil is ultimately burned along with the fuel as a total-loss oiling system. This results in increased exhaust emissions, sometimes with blue smoke and/or a distinctive odor.

1995 Yamaha Waverunner III dies won't run

Check cylinder compressions, this ski will overheat if one side is low. Thus is step one, if ok and within 10% of each other, verify the exhaust isn't clogged with sand from "beaching" third verify the crank seals are not leaning the Mix causing an overheat. Obviously check the impeller housing to exhaust line isnt clogged, disconnecting the thermal sensor is asking for a top end rebuild which is about 500.00 they are designed to reduce revs and alternate spark to the cylinders once 200 degrees is reached.

1989 yamaha waverunner. I purchased a 1989 25HP Yamaha Waverunner & was wondering how you check the engine oil?

Did you get any instructions from the previous owner? If it's a 4 stroke waverunner there will be a dipstick on the engine block, but I'm guessing it's probably a 2 stroke engine because most watercraft used 2 stroke motors clear through the 1990's. The oil will be mixed with the gasoline when you fill it, bottles of 2 stroke oil can be purchased at most stores that carry oil. Your waverunner can be mixed at 50:1, which equals out to be 2.6 oz of oil per gallon of gasoline. On a 2 stroke engine the engine gets lubrication from the oil mixed with fuel and will burn up fast if straight gasoline is used. Let me know if you have any troubles, but try to get ahold of the previous owner to get some more info.
