First, I'm not a Kabota representative.

*** The following is for information only.***
* Powered equipment requires maintenance. Hydraulic powered systems need extra care when servicing. Oil lubricates and provides the lift or retraction of the loader.
* No Hydralic oil, no operation.
* Check the oil tank level.
* Perform a visual check of all hoses, connections, pipes, valves, and leavers.
* Check the storage shed floor for oil drips and the location of the source of oil leak.
* ALL leaks must be serviced prior to using equipment under load conditions.
* Precaution must be observed when taking apart valves, pipes, hoses, etc.
* Contamination of the hydraulic parts will damage new and old parts in the rest of the hydraulic cycle.
* Check the used oil for contaminats Especialy metal fileings and metal flakes (damaged chrome shafts)
* Chrome flakes is very hard and sharp. It will clog and score pistons, o-rings, and seals.
* Chrome flakes come from damaged shafts, piston faces, cylinder faces, and other chromed parts.
* Perform daily equipment check prior to each use.
* Perform equipment check prior to each operator shift change.

Yes, any hydraulic leaks will affect the entire machine. They are also extremely dangerous when pressurized (used) and hydraulic fluid is hazardous. Repair the leaks correctly before operating the machine further.

Like other hydraulic systems, there is probably a procedure for bleeding the lines after loss of most of the fluid. You may still have air trapped in the system and once it works its way to the cylinder, the cylinder is working with air instead of fluid and the air compresses instead of doing work.
It depends a little on what the temperature is outside. I think I normally run a 10w in my backhoe.

If it works correctly when you manually move the lever, it could just be rust build up in the ball linkages. Spray the dickens out of the entire loader wobble stick linkages with Kroil and see if it frees up. If not, the dump position of the control valve could be a detent type that is responsible for tripping the handle back to center position once it is released and internal of the valve the components that cause it to move to center are stuck. Could be as simple as a rusty ball bearing and spring.
