The throttle linkage and governor setting will be found in the workshop manual for the engine that you have
so
search --workshop manual for ( engine make and serial /model number) and down load the pdf version

SOURCE: location of governor linkage and throttle linkage

Try going to searspartsdirect.com. You can put in the engine number 143.955016 in the model search and it should give you a parts list and diagram for that engine.
Good Day.

2006 Husqvarna yth2042 motor runs well, but has trouble accelerating and going up an incline

If the motor runs good at a low rpm, I want to say your problem lies somewhere in the governor. As you put load or strain on the engine the governor should increase the throttle speed on the motor. My guess is a wire, cable or something is rubbing on the linkage from the governor to the carb, if not the governor my need readjusted. I hope this helps.

Governor reset

Are you asking how to reset governor linkage to factory spec? If so, move governor arm in direction that opens throttle valve on carb wide open. Hold in this position. Loosen small nut on bottom of governor arm. With a needle nose pliers turn center arm that goes into engine in the same direction you turned governor arm to open throttle valve. Holding in position, now tighten nut on governor arm tight again. This is referred to as a static setting and is factory spec. Good luck!

10 hp briggs runs at high speed, govenor don't seem to be working

One possible cause for this problem is debris, sticking,or frozen linkage between the governor and the throttle butterfly. Depending on the make and model of your engine it will either be a mechanical governor that has a arm that goes down into the case or a air vane governor that is behind the recoil shroud of the engine. Move all the linkage that connects between the governor and throttle and speed lever to make sure it doesn't bind or sticks. If it does pray a little silicone or wd 40 spray on it to help reduce friction. Also on air vane governors they can become stuck from debris that inhibits it from moving make sure there is nothing in the way of the governor. If all of the linkage is working properly and you still have the issue try adjusting the the fuel mix screws and the high rev. settings on the throttle lever (if equip.).
