It sounds like you have a leak somewhere. Turn off the valve supplying the water to the house. Wait however long it has been taking the pump to kick on by itself. If it doesn't kick on, wait another ten minutes. If it still doesn't kick on, turn the valve back on and wait to see if pump runs by itself. If it does, you have a leak somewhere. If this is not the case, your problem may be a bad expansion tank or pressure switch. Good luck!.

Why would my 1 hp pump only maintain 45 psi running 1 garden hose?

Without knowing all your variables with well it is hard to say. Bladder tank needs to have 30 psi with no water pressure. It is possible that the screen down the well is restricted and you are only getting that much water. Or you may have clogged impeller in pump.

1985 for ltd fuel pump keeps running

For the water pump, that means the water pump needs replaced-the seal is shot when it drips out the "weep hole". The hole is there to let you know the inner seal is gone.

Pool pump running low psi

your pump should be just fine once the water starts flowing again. You may have run it too long without enough water to cool the seal.
If it is leaking water between the Jacuzzi Pump housing and the motor then you will need a new pump seal. Those are common pool parts.

Overheating no noticeable signs that radiator is leaking, no fluid around the water pump to indicate that it may be going bad, temp gauge hits 180 then the fan kicks in...do you think the thermostat may be...

I would put money on the thermostat as a first culprit. Water pumps usually fail in a leaking state rather than in a "not pumping water" state. In the current weather, there will be little harm in running without a thermostat to test it (or even longer if you want to). The thermostat is usually in a housing at the end of the top radiator hose. Unbolt the housing, pull the thermostat, make a new housing gasket out of a cereal packet and take a drive out.

If it works, go buy a new thermostat and gasket at your leisure.

Dish washer that does not pump out the water on it"s final cycle

I had this same problem and after having the repairman over to our house several times and having the circuit board changed, I figured it out on my own...

It turns out that the pressure created from the steam during the water heating stage (HO) was pushing on the door latch just enough to prevent the motor from running properly. Because the door wasn't latched completely, the water wouldn't drain and the dishwasher would go to the "Drying" cycle without ever pumping the water out of the basin.

I adjusted the levelling on the DW and that helped, but I'm still not sure that the problem is fixed. We may need a new latch assembly.

To test this, when the DW stops running at any time, push on the door. If the motor kicks back on, this is the problem.
