There should be instructions with the replacement belts or in the manual. If not try the Bex Bissel web site

Push the foot pad handle release on the left side lay the handle all the way back. Then lift the handle on the center bucket pull out and fill with hot tap water only no soap in the hole that fills up the plastic bladder.Flip the handle back down so that it locks the lid on. On the right side is a smaller soap tank just pull it up and unscrew the top and put your soap in it then replace.Set the dial right beside it to either water only ,or high traffic or ,regular. The soap dispenses automatically saving you from having to mix the solution.Turn both switches on and make a forward and back pass holding the trigger release the trigger go over the area just soaped until most of the water is sucked up. The little red circle on the left side is supposed to be turning if the water and soap are being sprayed out.Repeat and have fun

SOURCE: Hose diagram for a bissel pro heat 2x complete pet

This is tricky... I'll suggest that you put the hoses back on EXACTLY where you took them off from. If this does not work, save all the parts, a competent technician will be able to reassemble your unit for about twice the cost of buying a new one.

Did you use TAP water...not a good idea.Use de-mineralized water you can get at most pharmacies, there is probably mineral buildup in the lines.

Taking the brush off the pro heat bissel?

try changing the belts first if you buy the original belt package it comes with instructions on how to replace them, if not it probably has a clogged heater core

Dont know how to change the belt on a 1697 bissel powersteamer pro

There is a great video on the Bissell site. 1 min watching it shows you how.

Basically you unplug it, take out the tanks, turn it upside down, remove the 2 red clips that hold the brush assembly, and lift the assy out, then replace belts.

My bissel pro heat cleane's brushes stoped. I checked the belts. They are okay. There is no sign of heat or problems around the motor. Is there a mercury switch some where in the handle so the brushes...

Depending on which model you have, you did not say, if the cogged belt goes to the pump pulley, the cogs may be wore away or and won't turn the brush roll. On some other moels, there is a brush roll motor that may have gone bad.
