Hi :) I'm trying to print on my Canon PIxma- mp480 to no avail

Hi :) I'm trying to print on my Canon PIxma- mp480 and keep receiving error messages of 'paper jam'. The paper for some reason is not catching onto the reel. I can hear the mechanism & gears moving, as if a print job was being done. The paper moves slight from the tray as if to follow the print path, but never catches the reel
thanks

Hello
This can be due to a feeder wrong setting on the printer or on your PC: your printer tries to take paper from the back feeder, whereas your paper is on the front feeder....
try to check these settings in your PC and on your printer, and retry to print, hoping this helps

How do I fax with my Canon MP480?

As far as I can tell, you don't. The MP480 can print, copy, and scan. It doesn't connect to a phone line and hence doesn't send or receive faxes. See http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp480#Overview

My Canon MP480 is giving me the 'error 5100' screen and will not print. how do I fix this?

Hi,
  1. Power off the printer
  2. Unplug the printer's power cord, wait 5 seconds then replug the power cord in.
  3. Hold the Power button for 6 Beeps
  4. Release the Power Button

This will reset the printer and should resolve incorrect cartridge detection problems

Good Luck!

My document are all too far to the right on the paper. The printer says I should do a head alignment, however, the manual contains NO instructions on head alignments, so I have no idea how to accomplish...

Support is available at the Canon website, but the support is temporarily down. Take this link at a later time when they are back up and running. The instructions are there. Choose from the pull downs multifunction, inkjet, MP480. Scroll down and enter "print head alignment", click search and the instructions will be available there.

Error 5200

Error 5200 is a printhead temperature error, sounds like you need a new printhead. The part number is printed on the side of the printhead. it's a QY6 number
