SOURCE: GES050 undercounter radio/cd player

..just read about your reception/interference problems and, having lived through similar situations for some time — particularly with different weather conditions. The following solution has settled it all : wrap power cable around storage brackets at back of radio with a short length then wound around support posts (between radio and cupboard from which radio hangs), then run short length to power supply outlet. In my case this result comes after much experimentation with the length of unwapped power cord (including fully unwrapped and stretched out) and different patterns of winding around the support posts. This final result takes care of everything (better sound, no interference/loss-of-reception when moving around in the room or in front of the radio, weather has no effect, stations received that could not be before due to overlap by nearby, more powerful ones). I have only about 2 1/2 feet of cable running from the brackets at back of radio, then wound once around center support and half around right support to then go to wall and down to receptacle close by (I tried all kinds of combinations of unwrapped lengths and winding patterns around 1 to 3 posts)...individual cases may be different. so GOOD LUCK, 'cause the radio is great...!

SOURCE: 2004 Chevy Trailblazer radio and CD player works, but no sound

if you have installed a new cd player in there then the propblem could be that your speaker wires and either touching each other or grounding them selfs out.. pull of the cd player and check to make sure all the speaker wires are covered properly and no bare wires are exposed.. if you still have a factory cd player in it then you will probably need to take it to a dealership to have it checked out..

SOURCE: Radio volume knob turns but won't change volume.

It 's the unit. bring it to a repair facility( fairly easy to remove) and have them do the repair . Its a lot cheaper than buying a new unit. If you decide to do this let me know and I'll tell you how to remove and install the unit.

2008 Altima radio-the sound just quit working. Everything else seems to be OK. I can change the radio stations, but no sound. Is there a fuse that could be bad?

Lost sound on 2005 impala. radio works. seems like amp problem.

Do you have base or up;level system ?

Table 1: Radio Features
Table 2: Cassette Features
Table 3: Compact Disc Features
Table 4: XM Advisory Messages
The radio receives power from the RADIO fuse in the junction block-right I/P. Ground is provided via G201 and G202. The radio is enabled/disabled by class 2 messages from the body control module (BCM). The radio routes audio signals from the digital radio receiver or the vehicle communication interface module (VCIM) to the speakers and/or amplifier when directed by class 2 messages.
The Entertainment System on this vehicle is configured with an AM/FM stereo radio with the radio data system (RDS) and either a cassette player or a CD player or both. CD and cassette. The uplevel system provides the customer with extended range speakers and an audio amplifier. Satellite digital radio (U2K) is available with uplevel systems.
The following list shows the radios available for this vehicle:
• Radio (ULO) - AM/FM Stereo, Cassette with RDS
• Radio (UNO) - AM/FM Stereo, CD and RDS
• Radio (UPO) - AM/FM Stereo, Cassette with CD and RDS .The complexity of the radio systems on these vehicle is mind blowing .

Your best bet take it to a GM dealer , has features you are unawear of .
DTC B1025, B1035, B1045, or B1055
When the radio is powered up, the radio supplies low level audio signals to the speakers. If the vehicle is equipped with an audio amplifier, the amplifier will boost the signal sent to the speakers.
DTC B1025 Audio Output Circuit
Install a scan tool.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
With the scan tool, monitor the DTC Information for DTC B1025.
Does the scan tool indicate that DTC B1025 is current?

When volume is turned up the radio shuts off

Have you checked all of the connections on the speakers, stereo, etc. Being a marine CD player, the wires and connectors are exposed to more elements than a car CD unit. Check for corrosion and make sure that all the speakers are hooked up to the correct "+" and "-" terminals. Not sure if this will help, but thought I'd try. It does sound like a speaker connection problem.
