Trying to replace my cabin air filter on my 2007 Suzuki SX4 and all videos that Say they are for the 2007 are Not showing the glove box "hinges" like mine. Mine look like small but wide rubber bands on either side. I have seen 2 types of videos to access cabin air filter 1. By completely dropping the glove box down (which I can't seem to figure out how to do on my model-no latch on side) should I just squeeze the sides in harder together? And 2. Accessing the cabin air filter far back under and behind glove box-requiring some simple tools, and no need to open glove box, or something else??? Been looking online for help for Days! Thank you

Yes, that's the video that prompted me to purchase a filter and change it on my own. Looked so simple to access. Another one showed a guy way back, under the dash on passenger side, removed a couple of screws to easily access filter from down there, but that did not look the way my 2007 SX4 looks either. Any suggestions? Will try to add photo soon. Thanks!

I just changed on my Chrysler 200 I think similar. I open glove box press in on sides of glove box back near dash(I moved glove box about a 1/4" back in and pushed sides). It came out a little more there is a rubber cord attached on the right side where it attached to glove box slid it forward and it came loose from glove box. the glove box door went to the floor and I just pulled it down and glove box door was off. No tools needed for mine. I could then change the filter. Installed door by putting near floor and pushing up.

The two filters are located behind your glove compartment, you have to remove the glove box and you'll find them.

SOURCE: How to I replace the cabin air filter in my 2008 MC C300

Remove the three torx screws using a torx-20 screwdriver...pull back the padding in the footwell...there is tab holding the left part of the plastic piece, use a flat-head screwdriver to pop it out...you may need to disconnect the light connector, and the cigarette lighter connection.. Once the plastic piece is out, you will see a large white box, the filter is inside this box. There are two yellow clips that need to be slided to the left/right. The box then pops out from below and the folded-filter will fall right out
Good luck..i hope this helps..please rate me a fixya.

Cabin filter element location

Filter is located behind the glove box. All you need is a screwdriver to replace.

1. Open the glove box and empty to take the weight off the box.

2. On the right side there is a plastic hinge like device held on by one Phillips head screw. If you have trouble removing with a Phillips screwdriver you can remove with a narrow flat head screwdriver. Remove the screw and slide hinge off the mount.

3. To drop the glove box press the sides slightly inwards while 'forcing' it open beyond it's normal stopping point. Careful as when it releases it will fall wide open and may even fall from its hinged area. Set it aside.

4. Behind the glove box there is probably some fiberous material inserted to prevent noise like squeaking when it rubs. It is sticky on one side to hold it in place. Just remove and place out of the way.

5. Behind the fiberous material there'll be a cover which kinda looks like a grille. Mine was white and it is in the center of the opening. Remove it by releasing the clips at the left or right. It comes right out.

6. When the cover comes off slide the filter out and replace it. The filter lays flat and just slides in and out easily. However, if it has been some time since you replaced be prepared for a lot of debris on top of the filter such as leaves, grass or other general type of debris that has been sucked into the filter. It also may be the source of any bad odors that you smell through the air conditioning system.

7. Reverse the process. Replace the cover and push the glove box lid back into place. When you replace the glove box be careful to make sure the hinge you initiallly removed the screw from is not left behind the glove box or you will have to remove again to get it out. Replace the screw and do not over tighten as it screws into plastic and then your done.
