My Smeg washer won't turn off. It didn't finish a cycle properly and now it makes a draining noise when the power button is on, even when the door is open. I turned power off at source but no joy.

SOURCE: Door Lock Clicks/Makes noises Washer does not agitate/spin

Sounds like very worn motor brushes to me, as its trying to turn the drum but has'nt the power needed to maintain any momentum, and the blinking door light is because of the bad cotact from brushes to motor.About £20 for a set of brushes or get an engineer to fit new brushes, but get a price first.

SOURCE: washer door will not open. washer just making humming noise

Hi there,
OE-pump blocked. Disconnect the power before attempting any work. Use of an RCD (plug in power breaker) is recommended.
Disconnect pump from sump hose and check for obstruction in either item. Pump removal: power off, remove cover, locate pump, (attached to other end of drain pipe).undo 2 wiring connections, 2 hose connections, and pump mounting screws. Remove pump chamber - some are held in with screws, others clip into place. Check for foreign objects round the impeller. If pump chamber is clear, may be a fault with the pump motor - in which case, replace.
Also check the filter - generally located behind a panel at the foot of the machine. Some are obvious like little square hatches and some are hidden behind the trim panel at the foot of the machine. Once panel is removed the filter should be visible. Its generally a circular plastic fitting which unscrews in an anticlockwise direction. Some hotpoint, indesit and ariston filters are located in the big black sump hose (the one that leaves the bottom of the outer drum and connects to the pump). Remove the back cover, locate hose, remove the tensioner clip by squeezing the tabs together, remove the hose, take out filter and clean.

Check the cold water hose. My brand new machine had this behavior until I discovered a kink in the cold water hose - works great now.

My smeg dishwasher runs a cycle for about 5mins then bleeps to say it’s finished.. then drains.. it doesn’t even run kind enough to release the tablet.

Sounds kinda funny but try unplugging they dishwasher for about 3 minutes where there's no power running to it. The plug should be underneath your sink. Then plug it back in and turn it on and see if it will cycle

Maytag Neptune washer machine won't spin or fully drain

    • 1 Open your home's breaker box and flip the circuit breaker switch to "On." If it is already set to "On," flip it to "Off" and then back to "On" to reset it. A power surge may have interrupted your wash cycle so the drain/spin cycle never actually started.
    • 2 Move the washer away from the wall and straighten the drain hose if it is twisted or turned in a way that makes it difficult for water to flow through it. Replace a kinked hose with a new hose.

    • 3 Push on the washer door to make sure it is fully closed. The washer will not drain or spin unless the door is closed tight. Press the "Start/Pause" button after you close the door.
    • 4 Wait for about 30 seconds after you press "Start/Pause." The washer will not operate until it has been able to fully lock the door and restart the drain process.
    • 5 Run the clothes through a complete cycle again, making sure you use cold water if there are a lot of suds in the washer. Too much soap in the washer can make it hard to drain. Use high-efficiency or low-sudsing detergents on subsequent uses.

Kenmore 80 didn't drain during the spin cycle and leak underneath machine. Makes buzzing noise in the wash cycles.

The pump is likely damaged if it was leaking. Look for a ring of melted plastic on the face side of the pump. Check to make sure the hole is not rounded where the motor shaft enters the pump.
I'd replace the pump just to make sure the washer doesn't flood some time in the future even if the pump turn out to be ok now.

I don't know if I have the same model SAMSUNG front loader, but I have a similar problem. The door has decided to stay locked at the end of the cycle. I can turn it off and on and even send it through another cycle, but at the end of the washing, it drains, goes to END but does not go the extra step of unlocking, like it usually would about 1min after ending the cycle.

My clothese have been through about 6 different cycles, hoping it will magically clikc open at the end. I assume they are very clean, but getting dizzy.

Any help out there?

Motor makes noise shortly after starting, makes normal sound level during main body of wash, then makes noise again during what I'm guessing is the rinse cycle. Not sure if it is a pump or motor problem....

Make sure the sprayer arm is turning freely, check for something stuck in the base of the sprayer arm (food or utinsel) preventing it from turning.

Smeg WM 16 AAA WASHING MACHINE

Try turning power off, unscrewing the back panel of the machine and removing, reaching inside and giving the wheel which looks like a waterwheel (has 'fans') a couple of turns. This is the pump and sometimes small particles jam the wheel. Turn the power back on and if still in mid-cycle should resume and finish.
