Two cycle engines run on a mixture of gasoline and oil. Each engine type is designed to run on a specific gas-to-oil mix ratio.
IMPORTANT: Use only oil that is labeled for use in "Two-cycle" or "Two-stroke" engines. Home Depot and other stores now have "premixed fuel" of gas and 2 cycle oil.
To mix two-cycle fuel, start by putting correct amount of oil in gas can. Then slowly add correct amount of gasoline. Do not try to mix gas and oil directly in gas tank of equipment.
IMPORTANT: Do not use any fuel that is over 30 days old. Do not mix more fuel than you are likely to use in a month. Old fuel can gum carburetors and prevent starting. Always use fresh fuel.
The chart below shows correct amount of oil per gallon that each mixing ratio requires. Expect that yours will be between 32 gas to1 oil and 50 to 1. 32:1 and 50:1 are most popular. RatioGAS:OILUNITED STATESOIL per 1 U.S. GALLON Gasoline

The mixture varies...You need to know the oil mix requirement for what ever 2 cycle engine you are using..Example 32/1 means one ounce of oil for every 32 oz of gas.. One gal is 128 ounces so one ounce per 32 would be 4 ounces of oil per gal...in this case..so you need to work the formula for you machine...good luck
You are talking about PEG-3350 powder, brand name Miralax but available in generic brands now, too. You've been told to use it for a clean-out prep for surgery or colonoscopy, right? The label says 238 Gms is en entire 8.3 oz bottle. But if you are struggling to read the label, which specifies that a cap filled to the line marked inside is equal to the recommended daily dose for constipation (17 Gms), then you should have been given a prep kit prescribed by a doctor, or told to have the pharmacist help you. The kit has a container with the powder, flavor packets, and the same electrolytes in the Gatorade, formulated to protect you from becoming too dehydrated or depleted of minerals by the process. An overdose of this could be serious--even very dangerous if taken by a child or elderly/fragile person--and yet an under-dose will leave you not fully washed out, so your exam may be useless or be cancelled.
HELLO THERE AND THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING FIXYA
From Poulan website:
The fuel-oil mixture ratio for all Poulan two-cycle products is 40:1.
You can obtain this ratio by mixing 3.2 oz. of oil with one gallon of
regular gas. If you have other brands of equipment that require
different fuel/oil
ratios and you don't want to mix separate fuel cans, you should use the
lowest numerical ratio. For example, if you have products requiring
40:1, 50:1, and 32:1 ratios you should use the 32:1 ratio for all
products. This may cause slight smoke increase in the exhaust in the
40:1 and 50:1 products due to more oil in the fuel, but it won't damage
either of the engines.
Your Craftsman is probably a Poulan, for the past few years Poulan has recommended a 40:1 ratio 1 gal premium/3.2 oz quality 2-cycle engine oil. I'd thin down even a little more 50:1 (1 gal premium/2.6 oz quality 2-cycle engine Fuel/Oil Mixture
Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 2gal premium/8oz chainsaw 2-cycle engine oil - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (1gal premium/2.6oz Stihl 2-cycle engine oil)
Any fuel containing ethanol is not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few weeks. Anything over 1.5 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine.
For the bar every home center and hardware sells bar oil. It is 30 weight non-detergent oil with a few additives to help it adhere where lubrication is needed. HTH Lou
