DeWalt dc612 and dc608 nailers. Why aren't new batteries working?

These models are very voltage sensitive - you can show 20v with a multimeter, but as soon as you put a load on it they drop to a much lower voltage.
I would try it with a new battery first before you tear it apart

I have a dewalt 18g DC608 finishing nailer I bought, and I’m using it with a 18v adaptor with 20v batteries. It lights up and fires maybe three nails but when the motor gets going it always cuts power and...

That symptom usually indicates a low voltage issue - not sure how the adapter may affect this, I've never run them with a 20v battery.
Try it with a standard 18v and see if you have the same issue - please comment back with the results, I'm curious.

My brand new dewalt cordless chop saw wont work when i pull the trigger the blade jerks and the light and motor gos dead ,thats happening with batteries and inverter

The first thing I'd check is running it with the blade off . Could be locked up somehow. I'd also check the spindle lock . If it's stuck down it locks the gears up .

My brand new DC608 18 gauge nailer jams every time on the 2nd nail.

Per your addendum I would have first told you to check that you are using the proper guage nails. Second you should make sure you are loading the nails in the lowest channel in the magazine so they are at the bottom of the magazine. If you load them into the top of the magazine they have more time to go off course before they get into the wood.

I have a DC608 cordless nailer that will not fire the driver the driver does not move at all but everything else seems to be functioning properly Thanks Tim

Hi,

You can go to this webpage and download the owner's manual which gives instructions: http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Products/Detail?productNumber=DC608K
You can also download a parts diagram and order parts here.

I looked through the manual and found that DeWalt's Brad Nailer does not require tools to remove jammed nails from the nose piece. I believe this is the problem with your nailer, unless it's empty. Some of these nailers will not fire if there's less than 6 nails in them.
Another feature on this nailer is the trip lock. It is a safety feature that prevents accidental firing. Any time you adjustments made to the nailer will automatically turn the trip lock to lock position. You'll find this lock on the right side, under the Dewalt label.

The instruction manual will explain all this.

Hope this helps. If it does, I would appreciate a vote. Thanks,

When battery gets plugged in lights come on but nailer wont fire

Does the motor run but does not fire a nail? If this is the case chances are the belt came off the flywheel. This is one of the most common problems when these will not fire.
If the headlights go on but the motor does not run it could be a bad switch or contact trip.

This a PDF of the owners manual, Page 9 had some trouble shooting tips. http://www.dewaltservicenet.com/documents/English/Instruction%20Manual/644429-00,DC612.pdf

For safety remember to always remove the battery when performing any service to this tool.
