I have a Toro 8526 snowblower. Pull cord drags in cold weather- I have to use electric start-once started and warmed up, pull cord works fine-is this condensation you think?

Sounds like your recoil starter is dry. when it's cold it makes it a lot worse. I would shoot a little oil into the recoil. Even try a shot of WD40 and if that works use an oil can to shoot oil into all the moving parts

Thank you Dan-will try this tip first thing in the morning. The snowblower starts and runs perfectly with the electric start. The pull start works fine after the machine has warmed a little. So, thanks again for your suggestion. Carl Martin

We have a toro model 20031. The battery doesn't work and my husband disconnected all battery connections. Should the engine still start with the pull cord?

leave all the battery connections connected, then prime the carb, and pull to start, i have a quad with an electric start and a pull start, it will not start with the pull cord if the battery is not connected.

I have a Toro self propelled lawn mower with a Briggs motor. It has the "Ready Start" feature that doies not want to work when cold. After several pulls of the starter rope and a few minutes...

There is a common problem with the ready start on early models. They tend to stick once moisture gets in them.

A dealer like www.arcolawn.com can do this under warranty for you.

Good luck

Toro Electric Start Mower Barely Turns Over

this is easy to point out the problem. if it is still under warranty get warranty replacement of the starter is not you might be better off just buying a new mower might be easier and cheaper because if your not still under warranty with it it will cost you quite a bit of money if you can't replace it yourself it will cost you the amount of the new starter and it will cost you the amount that the shop's labor fee which can vary a lot depending on where you take it.

Engine keeps flooding out

Recommend completely draining the fuel system. Tank, lines, and carb. Make sure everything is clean and dry. Clean or replace fuel filter. Always try to store it with a full tank of fuel. It is common to get condensation when the weather goes from warm to cold and back.
