Chefmate microwave P70D20AL-D4 beeping

It was working fine till this morning. now the keypad won't work. after a while it starts beeping and the display shows either 1:40 or 2:30 with the Code status lit.

This happened about 9 months ago as well but then went away. Now it is back. How do we solve this for good?

    Thanks, that explains why the problem intermittently goes away and then comes back for no apparent reason.

    Removed cover - unplugged the keypad and replug it - now working fine. Just don't touch the capacitor!

After calling many numbers, I was put in contact with the manufacturer, Galanz Microwave, and was told that that beeping is due to a burned out part in the keypad that is not servicable. I, too, have this annoying model!

Hello,
I have the same problem with the beeping on the Chefmate model P70d20AL. I understand that it is a problem that might go away by just unplugging the the circuit board on the back of the key membrane. If that doesn't work it will be better to replace the microwave as the circuit board cost just as much as a new microwave. I have not found where to buy this circuit board but that was the remarks from a appliance repairman on You Tube.

Either the touchpad or control board is defective. If the ribbon cable was disconnected from the control board and the beeping stops it would confirm the problem. Since the keypad is unresponsive, that probably is the problem.

Try re-programming from the menu: things like time/temp since these typically let you know something changed in how the unit was put into service. Maybe an electrical shortage or power outage caused the unit to trip. Re-set functions.

You have a shorting membrane keypad.

If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and of course one should never leave a microwave unattended while cooking.

Chefmate microwave oven won't start, only flashes numbers.
Well I had the same problem. It made me start unplugging a microwave when it wasn't in use, which is always a plus.
When it does the whole 6666 thing, press 5 and then stop/reset. It usually allows me to input what I want after that.

Sylvania p70d20al-d5 microwave keeps beeping
I have the same problem with my microwave, the clock disappears and it says "enter" and "amt", I figured out it's the "beverage" button that is sticking. When I want to use it I just press "beverage" and then "reset" and just press them over and over until it stops. Usually it's on the first try, sometimes I have to press them a few times. Just don't do what I'm about to type though, I decided to get my razor knife and cut the button out carefully, I only cut the contacts on each side of the button, now no buttons work, I should have left it the way it was, at least I could use it that way.

I would say your keypad is shorting or there is corrosion, grease, or moisture on your control board.

If it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

Dude, that totally happened to my boyfriend and me! He woke up in the middle of the night to the beeping and went downstairs to check it out. It was like 3am and the microwave started displaying all 6's. Then a helicopter flew right over our apartment and he started really flipping out. Talk about scary.
