Yes, the light bulb base needs to come out so that you can replace the whole unit (bulb & base.) These lamps are known for separating when you try to remove them. I would recommend a needle-nosed pliers to get the base out. If you need to unscrew it and can't get ahold of it with pliers, you might try using a carrot! Cut the carrot a short ways down from the stem, then push the cut end into the socket and unscrew it.

Remove the power plug & remove the lid!
Remember microwaves are deadly! Never touch! use your eyes only!
Put a 1/2 cup of water in & start. Look if you can see where the smoke comes from. If there is some arching somehhere, you may unplug it & leave it for 1/2 an hour to get rid of lethal high voltages. There may be carbon black at the arching site. You may clean it and if you see any paint damage, cover it with a piece of duck tape. Then try again.
If the smoke comes from the transformer, a square heavy iron box, dump the microvawe.
They are cheaper than the combined cost of the transformer & the labour!

look for supply to turntable motor if supply is coming on motor and it is not moving it means motor is faulty

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour.

If it still isn;t working I would contact Danby Customer Service US / Canada.

You need to have the door switch replaced it has collapsed.
