Microwave not heating food

It has stopped heating using the microwave function. The oven and grill function seem to be working fine and the light is on. It makes the noise as if it is working but the food comes out stone cold.

DAnby over the oven microwave wont heat..sounds like it's working but it's not. All other functions like the clock, turn table, exhaust venting etc works fine. 2.5 years old. Any ideas on what I should look for? Where is the fuse located?

Hello VEKAT,I have the same unit whirlpool GH5176xps-o and it also won't heat.I have check Magnetron terminal to terminal and have my olm set at x10 and get o ohms. Also checked terminal to body casing in x1k and still get o olms this should be infinite.Or should this be Filament to the chassis.Infinite should that be 0 olms to the right of meter or to the left of meter which would be 220 olms and then oo.I have also checked the volts to the 1100m inverter and it comes up120v.So i am having a feeling it is the inverter. do take care, Harold

To Topi: I don't know if you resolve your problem, but I have the same one.So I took apart my magnetron and had noticed some burn marks on the inside copper coil.I am not sure if I am testing this item right. In my book it says to check in RX1 the filament terminal, does that mean terminal to terminal? and to check in setting RX1k the filament to chassis is that the terminal to the outside frame? Also a note if your magnetron is out it does have a 5 year warrenty.that is in the back of the book.Harold

Check the protector connected at the capacitor and at the magnetron coil windings, check using an ohm meter.,meter should read to zero

Microwave blows fuse in microwave mode grill function ok

It is most likely the capacitor has shorted or the rectifier has shorted. Check with ohmeter, but make sure it is discharged first by shorting the capacitor with a wire.

My delonghi 800w microwave oven works but does not heat up food

If your handy with getting the cover off and looking inside... check the obvious.
I suspect :
fuse
thermister
relay
If both microwave and Heating elements dont work, then I will assume the magnetron is ok, ans we are dealing with a high voltage issue... and you will need at best... a volt meter and or neon troublelight...
moust appliances have a simple schematic inside... I would start with the heating element first... trace wiring back to circuit board... usually one side of the heating element is connected to the white wire (neutral) and live (Hot) side is controlled thru the circuit board... so finding the neutral should be easy... then trace with neon light or voltmeter...

I know easy for me to say... but with everything else working... it doesnt seem to be the microprocessor that controlls the unit...

My ifb microwave oven is getting hot outside while

Normally when u cook food in microwave the fod is cooked by microwaves, which means the heat is generated with in food. The temperature inside is never too hot and all the heat produced is absorbed with in the food.

On the other hand when the grill is switched on, a separate heatting element gets switched on. You can see this red hot element on the top side of inside of microwave. the heat from this element gets transferred to food through air circulation. But partof heat also gets transferred to the walls of microwave oven. This is the reason the wall feel hot during use of grill.

As i see ther is no problem with the microwave itself. Jut kep delicate thngs a bit away from the microwave.

Belling BEL-CJ/SS25 microwave

My Belling BEL-CJ/SS25 Microwave / oven / grill has recently developed a problem. Every time I close the door the turntable starts rotating, even when I'm not using it. It doesn't make a noise, and doesn't seem to be going into any cooking setting, and the light doesn't come on, but it turns until I open the door, when the light comes on and the turntable stops turning. This has only recently started happening, and nothing else seems to be wrong with it, Is this safe or should I get rid of it and buy a new one. The guarantee has expired so repair may be cost prohibitive.

Have GE JVM2050 over the range microwave, which stopped heating food and water since this morning. All other functions including light, key pad, clock, turntable work normal. The magnetron sound also

if everything works except the heating, it is most likely the mag tube is on its way out.........that is the most common reason for it not too cook.......since the microwave is a GE and it is 3.5 years old, i would say you are better off buying a new microwave, the mag tube starts at around $70.00 and up + the labor it costs too have a service person put it in........around another $60.00

Combination microwave oven

What is the nature of the failure?

Can you enter cooking the time?

If so, what happens when you press Start?

Does it run (count down, lights on, turntable on ) but not heat?

Brand and model might help, too, but the basics are the same, so we're happy to help you with more information.
