How do I set up and connect my canon mg2120 printer to my samsung tablet for printing documents

YOU NEED THE PRINTER SOFTWARE ON THE SNDROID DEVICE

Since the Canon MG2120 only has a USB port, it doesn't have an IP address. The specifications are available here: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/mg-series/pixma-mg2120?tab=technicalspecifications.

If you have a router with a USB port that is working as a print server, check the router administration page (usually 192.168.1.1) for a network map. There should be an option to look up the specifics of the devices, including the IP address. Note: you may need to install software from the router manufacturer to enable this print server function. On my router, I found a link to this software on the router page in the section for setting up the USB devices. When I had a printer connected to the router, I had to connect the printer to each computer via the USB cable in order for the drivers to load. Then the software could identify the printer during the setup when the printer was connected to the router.

If you are trying to use one computer with a USB connection to the MG2120 as the print server, you'll need to enable device sharing. Then let the other computers find that system. The address of the printer will end up similar to a folder of the directly connected computer (print server). Note: I know how to do this with Windows OS machines. I'm not sure if it works with iOS and Android devices.

printer is too old you wil have to upgrade to a wifi printer for it to work. been there and done that

im unaware that cannon software runs on a tablet (android) , but you can remove the storage card and buy a usb card reader to connect to tablet to see photo with (jpeg format only) , also another way is to use a digital photo frame , connected to a wifi router ! ive done this 4 show demo's and stuff it works fine !!

what is the default printer is it paperport ?
Go to settings printers and make Canon Pixma mg2120 the default printer

or each time go to File Print in whatever the program you were printing from was and then select Canon Pixma mg2120 as the printer

Are you close enough to the printer? Bluetooth range is only about 6 feet max. is the printer wi/fi capable? Print to google cloud print and associate it with your printer.

to get a page printed by your samsung galaxy tab you need to open the page you wanted to be printed and the select a printer your icon at the top of your screen then the tab wil automatically detect the printer will give you the print of the required page. You need to have your device connected to the printer before you can print. Is your printer wifi enabled?
