My sony snaplab is saying broken paper roll and ink,

I'm sorry. Only working with genuine consumables, others don't give good results in color or machine care.

Happend twice to me. What sometimes happens is that the paper roll was not changed at the time the ink was. Therefore the paper roll was allowed to remain in the printer until the very last sheet. On the last sheet there is a sticker that says paper out. (stupid idea) This sticker makes the last sheet of paper too thick to fit through the last paper guide / feed. Because of this, the ink film breaks and that specific error message is displayed until that last piece of 4x6 is pulled from the paper feed. Clear that out, and all is good.. Change the paper every time u change the ink.

You must open up the front where the roll goes. Lay the printer back, and look up top where the paper ejects. you should see some of the paper in the feed. Pull that out with a tweezers.

Beware. I sent my printer to Sony and they tried to get me for a new cutter and thermal head. Close to $500. I then realized the problem because it happened on another unit I own. I told them to ship it back unrepaired and I fixed it myself.

Change the paper every time u change the ink. Even if its not finished. They give you extra. And clear out all the paper from the cutter traay before you move the printer.

Could be just dust on the print head. Try to use the cleaning process with the cleaning cassette that came with the snaplab, and the yellow patch that comes with each case of paper. If that does not help, you may have a damaged print head...By www.kobis.com

This sounds like the sensors are damaged. Best taking to a computer repair centre to be checked out as sony parts can be hard to acquire.

Make sure you have put the printer roll core in ! Don't lose that core cause you must have it for the printer to see the paper.

I'm not sure of how helpful this info will be but you should have rec'd the plug in CD with your Snaplab; if not, you can go out on the internet and get it for free. Once you've done this, you should copy the Sony templates into to your SnapLab and from there you should be able to copy additional created templates to the SnapLab that you created in Adobe. You also need to save the Sony templates in your Photoshop plug in file and then transfer/export them from that file to the Sony SnapLab...at least that's what my instructions say. My problem is, I've completed all the template transfers but I don't know how to create a template in Photoshop. Can you help me? :o(
