SOURCE: Cannot recieve or send faxes

Check out the Easy Setup Instructions available here. If you can neither send nor receive faxes, you may not have the phone line connected to the correct port, see page 34 of the guide. Also check what receive mode the machine is set for. Pages 42 and 43 explain the different options and how to change the receive mode.

SOURCE: Trying to receive a fax. Display says

You have to cancel the fax. If its saying that then the paper sent to you was a legal sixe 8.5x14 and needs that type paper to receive the fax. Some faxes have legal trays and A4 but most don't.

Right now the fax machine picks up on the 2nd ring. How can I increase the numbers of rings before the fax answers?

In the FAX mode you can select the number of rings using

Printer is not working

It is possible that the FAX in the memory is causing the problem. Try unplugging the printer from the wall and leave it off for a minute or two to see if it will clear the memory

My incoming faxes won't print. both black ink cartridges r full

Is there any message when you try to print the faxes?

If there is an "Image Quality" message, probably the printer is set up to "Copy" in "Photo" or "Fine" mode and it needs to be set to something other than "Fine" or "Photo"

My canon PIXMA MP780 isn't receiving faxes. The in use light is blinking but nothing is coming through. I believe it's hooked up correctly. How do I troubleshoot it?

Check and make sure that the line coming from the wall jack is plugged into the port marked with an "L". The other port is to connect a telephone set or answering machine.
