The CMOS battery is a CR2032 button battery. You can find this at your local Radio Shack or other electronics store for about $5 or less.

How can I fix my macbook air battery ?

Battery is most likely dead,,, they are only good for a limited number of cycles. If this is the case you can just order up a new one and put it in. Get the number of the old battery or google the serial number of the computer on the Mac site and you should get the battery details,,, you should be able to find a third party battery online much cheaper than form apple. If you have any difficulty opening the case just search MacBook Air Battery on utube and you will see someone else do it to guide you!

Battery charge does not last long

If your laptop battery is more than 3 years old, it sounds like it needs replacing. Search online for your laptop model number to find a replacement battery for a low cost. IF cost isn't an issue, then write the model number down and go to an electronics/computer store for a replacement.

Need to replace the cmos battery

Hello that`s easy.

Open the case, and look for a small round shinny battery.

Press the release button, and the battery will pop out.
If not, use a small screwdriver, but don`t use force:
Here is a picture, how it looks like:

2_5_2013_2_09_56_am.jpg

The battery type is a CR 2032, 3 volts watch type.
Insert the new battery the same way.

When you remove the battery, the cmos/ bios will be cleared, and the bios needs to be setup: clock, date, boot settings, etc.

A pc repair shop, can help you with renewing the battery.

Good luck

Just saying battery life low consider replacing, only had laptop 18 months, did`nt think it would need replacing in such a short spell.

Run the computer only on the battery, until it is exhausted.
Fully recharge it.
Run the computer only on the battery, until it is exhausted.
Fully recharge it.

These "deep-cycles" may give the battery-life a "kick". Maybe.

Check the web-site of the manufacturer of the computer.
Maybe, there is a "known" problem with that particular model of battery.

Do a Google-search for the part-number of the battery, to see if anybody has posted comments about poor battery-life for that part-number.

If running only on batteries is "important" to you, then consider replacing the battery.

Clock not synchronising. Have tried everything. Could it be battery? What size is the battery?

It is the Battery ruth14. It's the CMOS Battery.

It's about the size of a U.S. nickle. It's a type of watch battery.

The number is CR2032 for a desktop computer most of the time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CR2032_battery

Tell me the manufacturer name of the computer, and the Model Number.

For a desktop computer this information is on the back, next to the Windows product key, or up on the side of the computer tower.

With this information I can tell you for sure what the number of the battery is, and most likely I can guide you on how to,
1) Open the computer case
2) Follow Anti-Static Precautions
3) Remove and replace the CMOS battery

Please post in a Comment.
Regards,
joecoolvette

(PS: The + symbol on the battery is for the Positive side.
The + ALWAYS goes up when installing )

Your battery has a warranty same as your laptop. Contact Acer and they replace your computer's battery FREE OF CHARGE.

When I push the ''on'' button with the computer plugged in, won't b

The battery is clipped at the bottom of the laptop, it sounds like the PSU circuit in your laptop has failed and you might want to consider taking it to a computer shop, but get quotes first as some shops still act like cowboys.

X41 Tablet PC the battery shows good but computer will not work

Some times a battery can pickup a dead short, and even though it shows a charge it will not work. The other possibilty is the power management chip on the mother board. This chip allows the computer to charge the battery and switch from battery to AC. (Right now I have a Thinkpad that will only run on battery, bad PM chip) Try replacing the battery first, if that doesn't work, then unfortunately the motherboard will have to be replaced.
