My Samsung Syncmaster 2033SN LCD Display flashes after every 5 seconds

I bought the LCD for almost 4 years and it still worked fine until today when I powered up my computer and found the screen went crazy. At first, a small notification message came up at the screen says:The optimal resolution of this screen is as below: 1600x900 @60Hz showing up at the BIOS splash screen and continued to the Windows boot logo. Afetr that, it started to flash every 5 seconds like this:Screen On - Short Flash - Screen On - .... I tried evrything, including re-installing monitor driver, but it couldn't help much for my computer screen.I'm wondering it might be some electrical surge that caused damaged to the screen or some hardware failures coming from either CPU or the screen. What should I do now? Is there anyway that I can solve this? I'm using Windows 7 btw.

I have Syncmaster 2232bw. When I first switch it on it flashes for about 1 minute before it stopsa flashing. After that it runs fine until I switch off and it cools. Is this the backlight dying?

This happened with my 2232bw also. The problem was that the 5 820uF capacitors that had burnt out so I replaced them with 5 1000uF capacitors and it's now working like a dream.
Hope This Helps

I have a samsung syncmaster 204T monitor. Everything was fine until last night when i kept my system on standby for approx 5-6 hrs. Now whenever i start my system there is only a green led on front panel...

I just started having the same problem! The green light flashes, but the monitor is blank. None of the button work (menu, source, etc...) and nothing changes when I disconnect it from the computer. I was suspecting a bad graphics card at first, but now I'm thinking the monitor itself is bad?!

Samsung Syncmaster 710N PROBLEM !!!

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder jopints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I have syncmaster 740NW samsung lcd monitor i am using it for 2 years but today automatically its screen has been blurred even it is working slowly not clearly visible

If you are DIY'er go to Display in Control Panel and reset to default, this might work. If not, try a RESTORE POINT roughly before condition started.

Have you kept up with your computer MOT's

ie Defragging?

Samsung SyncMaster 213T - DIM DISPLAY

I would follow the self-test below. If you see the same issue in the test screen then your monitor has lost it's sync and would need a board replaced.

If it dosn't appear during the test, then you might want to test it on another PC.

Self-Test Feature Check
1. Turn off both your computer and the monitor.
2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer.
3. Turn on the monitor.
If the monitor is functioning properly, you will see a box in the illustration below.

b1df19a.jpg
This box appears during normal operation if the video cable becomes disconnected or damaged.
4. Turn off your monitor and reconnect the video cable; then turn on both your computer and the monitor.

If your monitor screen remains blank after using the previous procedure, check your video controller and computer system; your monitor is functioning properly.
