This is an anti-flood protection, since water would flood the kitchen if you could open the door. If the machine shuts down for some fault and leaves the drum with water in, then it is advisable to drain the drum down via the small hose at the front of the machine. Simply remove the plug and empty into a large container until the drum is empty. You can then start to work out why the cycle ceased prematurely.

Started filling, made a loud noise, stopped filling immediately, door wouldn't open. I tried everything to get it to open. Running the spin cycle finally got the door open at the end of the cycle, though...

The washer drain the water if you put on spin. all electronically controlled washer won't unlock the door and or spin if there's water inside the water has to be drained out first. If the basket didn't move(no motor movement) and it finished the cycle, POSSIBLE problem is the motor control board. Hi, I have a zanussi wwashing machine model= ghg1200apm. The door won't open. I plugged out the machine after the wash and when i plugged it in again, the door wont open. Can you help me?

Hi.

The door does not open because there is water inside the machine. To open the door you need to empty the tub first.

To empty the tub disconnect power, open the door at the bottom of the machine's front side, unscrew the drain filter cap and collect water using a container.

Usually that is enough to allow the door to open. If the door does not get released, try running a cycle again.

If still no luck, then the door is locked either because the pressure switch detecting water level is clogged with soap or because the power surge has damaged some component. In that case the machine must be partially disassembled to reach the back of the door opening mechanism. The door latch is reachable either from drain filter access or from top of the appliance.

Emptying water through the drain filter and/or restarting a cycle usually is enough to release the door lock.

Regards.

Apart from a faulty Door interlock could be water stiil in the drum make sure its empty and electrics are ok firstly

I have a Hotpoint ultima stream washing machine (WMA63) which the light says the cycle has ended but the water will not empty and we cannot open the door, any suggestions??

first to empty the machine--lower the drain hose at the back below the tub into a basin--once all the water is out--wait for about 3 mins and the door will unlock--then check your filter--probably pump prob

Whirlpool Dishwasher won't drain during normal cycle

As you say a clogged line or valve does not make sense.

Try running it without the heated drying and see if it empties or if the cancel button will work then.

The dishes should air dry quickly if you empty it and open the door.

It could be a defective thermostat allowing it to get too hot during the heat cycle

Door won't open

Usual reason for this is not emptied correctly. The filter on this model is in an awkward place so try lowering drain hose into a bowl to check if water still in.

Dishwasher just emptying

I am at the end of my tether. I have bought a new door latch for my Bosch SGS 43E02 GB45, so door now closes properly and have managed to stop the leak under the front left hand side of the machine. Howver it sounds as if it is constantly emptying. It does not go onto the new wash cycle just keeps pumping out the water. It did run a quick rinse yestreday but now is back to the constant emptying problem. Even when I open the door it still keeps running and staying on a emptying cycle despite there being no visible water left inside the machine. Please help!!

Washing machine door won't open!

Hi,
I have the same machine and the door won't open using the button. Speaking with technicians gave me a very expensive fix. However, there is an easier solution:
If the bottom panel is removed, just underneath the door there is a protruding section with a "T" slot in it. Inside that is a ring. If that is pulled down it will open the door. I've been using a screwdriver for almost 2 years now.
Good luck,
Andy

Maytag Neptune doesn't spin at end

Of course, did you find anything clogging your outlet filter, this is most likely the problem. The outlet filter needs periodic cleaning, according to your usage.
