I have a Sansui HDPDP4200. It will not turn on. I did notice a green flashing led inside the back. Any Suggestions? I am also in the market for a schematic for it but have not been able to locate one

I hear a click of a relay when i first try to turn it on, but only when i first try it. Also i opened the back up and there is a steady flashing green led.

More than likely a power supply board issue. Unable to supply the correct voltage. If you can find out how many flashes the power light goes on/off. This is a key information to know what diagnostic it is giving you. Plasma's could be trickey as it could be the power supply or an Inverter board to try and power up the plasma screen.

I have a sansui 4200 trying to find the d12 board the light flashes 12 times

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience.

My Sansui HDPDP4200 42 inch Plasma stopped powering up. When I hit the power button (both on the TV or by the remote) the green light comes on for about 2 seconds then shuts off. I tried to turn it back on...

Plasma TV's are notorious for power supply problems, its most likely failing capacitors in the power supply. If you can find a repair shop i would take it in, otherwise you might also be able to find a replacement power supply board online, but its a crapshoot to find a good one so its better to try and repair/rebuild the one you have. If all else fails its just time for a new TV. It sucks, i know, but i see so many 2-3 year old TV's failing its like a plague of the repair shop.

How to switch to dvd mode

If you can provide the RCA remote model # I can be more specific (it should be located on the back or inside battery case.
Anyway depending on whether your remote uses 3 digit codes or 4 digit codes the Sansui TV code is usually 191 or 1191.
  1. Press and hold the TV button on the remote. LED will stay "ON".
  2. Enter the code for your brand of TV into the remote while continuing to hold the TV button down. LED will go out during number entry and turn back on when the last digit is entered.
  3. Release the TV button. LED will flash and go out if number is entered sucessfully, or flash 4 times if it detects an error.
  4. Press Channel up or down to see if this has worked.
You can also use the code search function.
  1. Turn on the device you wish to control.
  2. Press and hold "CODE SEARCH".
  3. Press and release the TV, VCR or Cable button. If programming an AUX position, press and release AUX first and then press the device type to be programmed.
  4. Release "CODE SEARCH".
  5. Press ON/OFF repeatedly until the device turns off. You may have to do this up to 100 times.
  6. When the device shuts off press and release ENTER.
  7. Try using the remote. If it does not function repeat steps 1 through 6.
