CD won't play comes up on screen no disc

Check the mode of operation. There can be a setting where it just plays one disc. Random or mixed will give you more songs to get to other discs.

You have a fault with the laser unit.

The CD player is defective and should be reolaced, but first open tray and carefully clean the laser lens gently with a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol and allow several minutes to dry before testing.

Insert a lens cleaning disc into the set and play it at leat three times. If the fault is due to accumulation of dust, the cleaning disc will clean it out and your set will be work again. If this does not help you, the laser pickup unit of the set is faulty, and should be replaced with same type and number. The lens cleaning disc can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shops at your twon, and won't cost more. OK.

Have you tried a blank disc with "audio" or "music" marked on it? It won't record on data discs.

You will need to download your files to a computer hard drive to burn a CD/DVD

Plays some does not play others. Soon nothing will be playable. Laser assembly losing ability to focus properly on disc surface and it has to be replaced since repair is not cost effective with these things.

To resolve this issue, try one or all of the following:

• The Wave® music system is designed to play commercial CDs, CD-Rs, MP3-encoded CDS and CD-RWs. If your system has trouble playing MP3 CDs, make sure the discs were recorded with compatible formats. See Cannot play MP3 CDs



• The system may not be able to play certain CD-RW discs. Playability is dependant on how the disc was recorded, including the format it was recorded in and the actual disc used for recording.
  Note: iTunes defaults to AAC as the encoding format. In order to use iTunes to make CDs that will play on the Wave® music system, you’ll need to change the format to MP3 How to Choose Import Options



• Different brands of CD-Rs and CD-RWs use different materials which may affect the ability of a player to read them. If you are burning your own CD-Rs or CD-RWs, experiment with different brands of discs



• If a commercial disc won’t play, check for scratches, fingerprints or other physical damage. Try the CD in another player. If it still won’t play, there may be a problem with the disc



• Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug the system back in

Oh, i had this problem several times... look, the best answer that i can give you is to buy a new one, there's sony's cd-players that are great, me and my father have. now, if you want to stay with this cd player just insert the cd several times until it will play. but again, you better buy a different one.

Many of the older Car CD Players will not play CD-R's or they may with static sounds behind the music. What you need to do is try using a different brand of cd-r disc. If this doesn't work then it means that you may need to replace the CD player because the model that you have may not be decoded in order to play CD-R, CD-RW, play MP3's or anything of that such.
