When i turn my indesit idl530 Dish Washer on, the pump operates, (I have checked that it is working by filling with water - the pump empties the machine) but after approx 1 minute the machine beeps and the left hand light starts flashing, but the pump continues to operate! Its as if the programme is stuck on the empty cycle! Is it possible to 'reset' the programme?
The problem you are getting is a f01 fault, this is water in the base part of the antiflood devise.to check this if you tip the appliance backwards and water comes from the back at the bottom this is the problem,if you do this till it stops and then leave for approx 24hrs to dry out any water that may have gone on to motor, then check by switching on to start a program,if appears to work ok but then goes back to the same fault(draining all the time and light flashing)you will have to remove base and check for leaks.

Most probable cause is that your float valve is jammed.
The valve is a safety feature to stop the machine from over filling. If
anything gets under the valve it will jam open and stop the machine.
Look
inside the machine on the floor will be a small float valve. On newer
models it will be located in or near the drain. There will be tube
about 2 inches (5cm) and about an inch in diameter with holes in the
top. Inside this is the float valve. On older units is looks like a
small upside down cup. Lift it and clear anything from underneath. Make
sure it can lift and drop freely.
Not working?
Check for a clog internal or external.
Scoop
as much water our as you can. Open the cover on the floor of the
machine. Usually just turns and lifts out or snaps out some are screwed
in. Take your time and try not to force anything. Look for a clog
there.
Check for clog in the drain. The dishwasher will
connect to the drain under your sink and run either directly to the
drain or into your disposal unit. Remove open the connections and look
for a clog. Clear if necessary.
Not the clog?
Water is
pumped out by the machine via an internal pump located under the base.
If it fails the water will collect until it trips the float valve.
First scoop out all the water from the machine and run it again. If
water comes in and it runs to the point it fills again and trips the
float then either the pump or timer is faulty.
Pump check.
Remove
the machine. It will be held in place by screws directly into the
counter top. You may have to lower it to get it out. The front feet
turn with a wrench to lower.
Turn off the water supply. Run the unit again until you get to the drain cycle.
Connect
a test light or voltage tester to the terminals at the pump. Check for
voltage at the pump. If you have voltage replace the pump. If no
voltage the timer is faulty.
Timer problem?
Some can be replaced as a unit others are integral to the control panel. Turn style can be replaced. Touch control can not.

There's a water leak inside, causing the anti[ flood micro switch to activate. Even a couple of tea spoonfuls of water will cause this. Remove the cover and check the polystyrene float at the bottom. A very small amount of water there will cause the problem. Check for any water leaks or even a slight water surge when the machine starts.
