If the LAN driver is showing up ok as per the device manager then try these steps:
First with everything on (ISP modem and computer) open your browser and now look to see where the cable enters your network card. You should see one solid light and one flashing light.
If there is only the solid light, check to make sure the cable is pushed all the way in (or try another cable if you have one).
If that didn't work try this: Turn both your modem and computer off. Now, you need to try turning them both on at exactly the same time. Check to see if the network is now working.
