Changing a microwave beep alert on Frigidaire microwave. Previous remedy on blog did not work on this model

I'm not familiar with that particular model, but with many of their models (and many other manufacturer models as well), unfortunately the beep cannot be turned off.

Without knowing the brand, it's hard to tell you. However, you might pull the power plug for a few minutes and plug it back in. The default setting is likely to be "ON" for that alert and it may come back.

Tape over the sound hole will quiet it down!

I see that your question is listed under Frigidaire microwave FFCE2238LW. Typically you will hear a series of beep once your food is done heating or defrosting has finished. I understand that you want to turn down the beep on your Frigidaire microwave, model# PLMV169DC. You are not able to turn down the beep, but you are able to turn it completely off. If you wish to have your microwave oven operate with no audible signals, touch Help, the number 2 and Clear/Off. To cancel and restore the audible signal, touch Help, the number 2 and START. Don't have a fix for your problem, but my Frigidaire microhood just did the exact same thing--about the same age, started cooking some food and it worked for a few minutes and then just stopped--time kept going, light stayed on, but turn table stopped and fan noise cut out. I tried it a few more times and it seemed to fade in and out and then stopped trying.

All lights are operational. Model number is FMV156DBC.

It has a bad magnetron. This is the tube that provides the microwaves to heat the food. Not too easy to replace yourself but it can be done. Cost of magnetron is probably less than $50 or $60.
