My Carrier Infinity system Model FE4A is leaking water from the bottom of the unit on to the basement floor. How do I stop the leak?

I have a Carrier Infinity system Model FE4A. Water is accumulating behind the service panel insulation on the right side near bottom and then dripping down inside the unit and on to the concrete basement floor. When I open the air filter access while the unit is running, I can see drops coming from the right lower corner of the unit were the service panel attaches. The condensate line is clear, the pump is working, and there are no drips from the center of the unit (it is an A-frame design and installed vertically). The water seems to be running down the face of the service panel and accumulating in the insulation and not collecting in the drip pan. The unit was cleaned by a an HVAC person. The drips seem to be coming from the lines on the side nearest the panel when the water melts between on/off cycle. The unit is otherwise operating normally. I noticed a drip ring near the copper lines that connect to the outside unit. Could the placement of the drip ring be the problem? The drip ring is toward the center of the unit and away from the side that is accumulating the water. Is there another way to direct the flow of the water away from the coils so it drips down into the pan and away from the insulation?

Thanks for the help. With regard to melting, I would like clarify, when the unit is running with the service panel off. I can feel the air being sucked in, and there is a light frost build-up on the pipes toward the top of the unit where the blower fan is located; but when I have removed the service panel immediately after the unit cycles off, there isn't any frosting or ice.

ANY frost build up signifies that the interior coil is far TOO cold a perfectly charged and balance system should produce a 21 deg F difference between room temp air and the out put air.

TOO cold indicates either low charge or a bad metering device

Have your HVAC technician check the pressures in your unit...sounds like you may have low pressure. You should NOT be having any ice build up to melt off.

Testimonial: "I am having the seasonal check done soon. There is no ice building up that I can tell. Even there were ice, when it melts it should still be dripping in to the drip pan and not down the front of the insulation, right?"

The water lines are generally run up from the basement. You should see a small coppper line entering the rear of the frig. Go directly below the unit and see if you can locate it, then see if there's a valve on the line where it attaches to a water line. Turn the valve clockwise until it stops.

Water leaking from freezer

Check for a blocked defrost drain. Take the panel off at the back of the freezer section and find the small hole at the very bottom center below the cooling coils. Use hot (but not boiling) water and a turkey baster to flush it out until water runs through it. (it will go into the defrost drain pan, where it will evaporate)
This will prevent water from comming out the freezer door and leaking onto your floor and running down your copper pipe to the basement.

Heavy water leak in basement under fridge

Has this fridge got an ice maker???
Because ice makers require a water supply to make ice.
This could be where your water is coming from.
