Failure to install Olympus VN 600PC

You may try to see if the manufacturer has one. I provide a link to the manufacturer at the bottom; you have to drill down to a chat opportunity from there. I think you are going to have to run the pertinent software in compatibility mode, probably for XP or Windows 7. You could try running the XP driver on an XP machine if you have one collecting dust. That is, if the driver exists in the links at the old posts below. This recorder has been around from at least 2009. Alternatively, you can try the Olympus chat to inquire if a current driver might work on it. I'm under the impression that installation of any driver for the device is a little tricky at the best of times. I called Olympus and found out that the software needed is the same as is used for Windows XP. So download/install that from their site + the drivers/update for windows Vista (works with 7 as well).

You will all need to call Olympus to have the software be emailed to you as it is not available for download from their website. The telephone number to call is 888-553-4448 option 5 and then option 2 for Digital Voice Recorders

Do not have recorder connected until all software installed and then reboot computer. Once computer rebooted then connect the recorder.

check out this link, i had exactly the same problem but this blogger has a working patch for the vn-2100pc and vista - works fine now!!
