The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

SOURCE: Memory Card Requires Formatting

Hey B418,
Formatting will delete all your pictures on your camera or memory card. The camera might be prompting you to format because the the camera's memory is full. To avoid losing your pictures I would connect your camera to a computer, download your images to your computer first, and then format the memory.

Sincerely,
Allan

SOURCE: Kodak memory card error

Hey hardygurl198,
What is most likely going on is you need to format the card so it will work in your camera. Every time you get a new memory card for a digital camera or if you put a memory card formatted to a different camera in a new digital camera you will need to format the memory card before you can use it. Directions on how to format your memory card are on page 27 of your camera manual, and I have provided a link to a PDF download of your manual in case you need it. I hope this helps!

I have a Kodak Easy Share (c653) digital camera . I forgot to put my memory card in it when I took some pictures. I have pictures on my card as well. How can I transfer the pictures on the internal memory...

You can view/download the user guide at
http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18741/selected/true

If you have enough room on the memory card, you can copy the pictures from the internal memory onto the card and then download them to your computer all at one time. If you don't have enough room on the card, you can download the pictures on them to your computer, then clear the card by formatting it, and then copy the pictures from the internal memory to the card for downloading.

If you just want to copy pictures between the internal memory and the memory card, here's the appropriate page from the user guide referenced above:

WHERE is the port to put my memory card from camera into my HP?

HP Laptops don't come with a built-in card reader.

You have two options:

  1. Use the USB cable that came with your camera to download your pictures. This plugs into your camera right next to where your card goes. Your computer will recognize the camera as a "removable drive". Click the Start button, click on My Computer, and click on the drive (usually E or F) that is called "Kodak EasyShare").
  2. Go to Best Buy or similar and purchase an HD Card Reader. These cost about $20-$30.

Was given a memory card for my Kodak M753 digital camera.

for this you can simply go to this website, www.kodak.com/go/support or you can refer also to your camera manual, you can download it on this website www.kodak.com/go/manuals.
To use the memory card on your camera just simply go to menu settings by pressing the menu button, then scrolldown to image storage then hit on ok, you will have 2 selections internal memory or memory card, just select on memory card then hit the ok buttton.

Kodak transfer from camera to memory card?????????

There should be a "Copy" command, probably in the Playback or Setup submenu. Since you neglected to specify the model of your Kodak camera I'm afraid I can't be any more specific.
