SOURCE: epson c90 paper feed problem

Is the message general error? The problem is tchip. When turn on chip is recognized by printer, but when start to print, printer "read" some information from the chip. Here is the error. Some pin at the chip for redaing the existence of chip, other pin for reading the information. Check connector between chip and carriage.

SOURCE: Epson Stylus 580rx won't identify vellum paper

Ran into the same problem. The problem is that the printer's paper sensor sees through the vellum and therefore doesn't think any paper moved into the print position. To use vellum, fold up 1/4" edge on a standard peice of print paper and place the leading edge of the vellum under the flap. Place the paper and vellum into the printer and print. The printer will pull in the paper and the vellum together. Make the paper fold tight and straight to prevent jamming. You will need to feed one sheet at a time. Also the Epson inks take a long time to dry on vellum. I let mine dry overnight.

SOURCE: Epson R340 does not feed paper or feeds it crooked

two things I would do, first carefully flip the printer upside down, (anything that looks like it can flap open, tape it well), and jiggle it slightly and see if anything falls out.

second, i would clean the pickup roller with an alcoholic pad or swab, if its not easily accessible, you will probably need to take the upper an middle casing off, which I dont recommend.

thanks adi

4TH LIGHT FROM THE TOP KEEPS COMING ON LEXMARK E232

What this light sequence means that the printer has a paper jam.

When a paper jam occurs, the printer stops and the operator panel's Paper Jam light and Continue button lights come on. Press and release Continue twice quickly to display the specific secondary error paper jam light sequence.

How to clear Paper Jam

?· Press Continue button twice quickly to see the secondary error code.

To get the secondary error codes

?· When the Error light (!) and Continue button lights are both on, a secondary error has occurred.

?· When the Paper Jam light (4th light) and Continue button lights are both on, a paper jam secondary error has occurred.

?· Press and release Continue button twice quickly to display the secondary error code light sequence.

Press Continue button to resume printing once all the jammed pages are cleared from the paper path.

We recommend that you clear the entire paper path when a paper jam occurs.

To clear a paper jam:

1 If you are feeding paper from a tray, remove the tray, and then remove any jams.

2 Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

NOTE: Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light for an Extended period of time. Extended light exposure can cause print quality problems.

3 Remove any jams in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

4 Lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any jams beneath the flap.

5 Open the rear exit and remove any jams.

6 After you have cleared the jams, reinstall the print cartridge assembly, make sure all printer covers and trays are closed, and then press Continue button to resume printing.

NOTE: The printer reprints the pages that caused the paper jam.

Thank you contacting FixYa for your printer inquiry.
This error is associated with either a sheet of paper blocking the paper path or a partial piece of paper that blocks path or trips a sensor. The printer will usually throw up a error code 13.XX on the display and the XX is a number that will indicate where in the paper path this error most probably occurred. Just follow the steps for your error on the below chart.
This link will take you to the user guide which will be helpfull identifying components and providing guidelines for most of the helpful hints and things you will need to know about this printer.

If the message persists after all jams have been cleared, a sensor or sensor lever might be stuck or broken. For all jam messages, do the following: 1. Remove jammed print media from the specified location. Check the entire paper path for other pieces of media in the path. 2. Open and close the top cover to clear the message. 3. Check sensors and flags in the paper path for proper operation. 3.0 PAPER JAM [LOCATION] A non-specific paper jam occurred. 1. Remove jammed media from the specified location. 2. When trying to print from the cassette get paper jam error but no paper is jammed. It doesn't even pick up the paper in the cassette. The error will not clear. Any suggestions as to what to do? It will...

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Somewhere in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code. I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if it is jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like. And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs Incidentally, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years; it is not just used in one model. And it is always a paper path error or purge unit.
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow. Move back and forth several times (with the power off)

Printer error shows paper jam at paper tray and printer stops after printing 3 or 4 pages. I open and close the top access and printing resumes for 3 or 4 more pages...stops and shows paper jam at feed...

Try two things:

Fan the paper before placing in the tray.

Raise the humidity in the room to at least 40% to avoid electrostatic sticking of the paper. Store paper in 40% humidity area.

False paper jams and multi sheet feeds

multi feeds and jams are mostly caused by static electricity in the paper. ALWAYS fan paper top and bottom to remove static and "aerate" the paper before putting in prnter. Doing that will reduce the problems you are experiencing.

Paper curl

When a paper jam occurs, the printer will stop printing and the Continue (1) and Paper Jam (2) lights on the operator panel will come on. See the illustration below.
pattlnk_1052005_1635-enus20238_oppaneljamlights_e230_en_us.gif When you experience a paper jam, it is recommended that you check and clear the entire paper path. To clear a paper jam, do the following:
  1. If you are feeding paper from a paper tray, first remove the tray. Look for and remove any jammed or damaged paper you find.

    pattlnk_1052005_1636-enus20238_removepaperjam_e230_en_us.gif
  2. Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

    IMPORTANT!
Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light, especially sunlight, for an extended period of time. Extended exposure to light will damage the green photoconductor roller and cause print quality problems.

    pattlnk_1052005_1639-enus20238_removecartridge_e230_en_us.gif
  3. Remove any paper you find jammed in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

    pattlnk_1052005_1645-enus20238_removepaperjam2_e230_en_us.gif
  4. Also lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any paper you find jammed beneath the flap.

    pattlnk_1052005_1646-enus20238_removepaperjam3_e230_en_us.gif
  5. Open the rear exit door/cover of the printer and remove any jammed paper you find there.

    pattlnk_1052005_1647-enus20238_removepaperjamrear_e230_en_us.gif
  6. Once you have confirmed that the entire paper path is clear, reinstall the print cartridge assembly. Close all the printer covers/doors. Reinstall any paper trays you removed.
  7. Press the Continue button to resume printing. NOTE: The printer should reprint the page(s) that caused the paper jam.
  8. If the paper continues to jam, press the Continue button twice quickly while the Continue and Paper Jam lights are on. This will cause the operator panel to display the secondary error paper jam light sequence. The secondary error code will tell you where the printer thinks the problem has arisen. For more information, see the 'Secondary Error Codes' section on page 69 of the User's Guide.
