For some time I have been unable to display images though they download fine. I want to delete the images on the memory card as a wedding a graduation imminent but playback arrow button not working. Is there another way to do this?

Hi, 1.make sure your memory card is not damaged and also formatted by camera ,this is because if card is damaged or not recognized the camera stores image in internal memory which may be full by this time. 2.backup all your data and delete all from internal memory also format the card and try using it. I think you need to create some specific folder in SD card then copy paste your images in that folder,
first take few pictures from CAM and then see which folder has been created by the camera
did you check any other SC card?

The card may be done. Thay have a limited lifetime, and if it was a cheap card in the first place.......

Reformatting does not fix this, the formatting software will scan for bad sections of the card and exclude them form the format.

It could be that there is a problem with formatting from the camera. But a card reader to fit to the PC and download the card formatting program from the official SD standards website. If your card can be properly formatted then this will do it.

Sounds like some of the spaces on the card are becoming corrupted. How do you download? With the camera and USB cord, card inserted into reader on computer, or card inserted in a separate card reader? When you are finished downloading, do you use the "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom right of your computer screen or do you just yank out the cord or card thereby causing the corruption?
