Msi wind u160 does not start

The wording is Press DEL (DELETE) key to enter setup.

It sounds as if your keyboard is not working, try plugging in a USB keyboard to see if you can regain control over the computer.

Msi wind u160 runs on mains power only

If your laptop works fine while plugged in but stops working while unplugged it's likely that either your laptop battery is bad or your laptop is not charging the battery properly.

Below are steps that can be taken to help identify the cause of this issue.

Leave power plugged in

Make sure the computer has been charging from the power plug for at least two hours before attempting to unplug it.

Remove and reconnect battery

In some situations the battery can become loose.
Removing it and then put it back into the laptop.

Third-party utility

Use a third-party battery utility to determine the total capacity of the battery. For example, BatteryCare is a free software utility capable of doing this.

Replace battery or AC adapter

If your computer is still in warranty we suggest skipping to the next step.

If the above steps have been completed, we suggest replacing the battery in the computer or AC adapter.

In most situations it's a bad battery.

hope this helps

Try removing the battery from the back and then running it directly through the AC adapter. Sometimes the battery and AC adapter have conflicts and it can cause a laptop to become inoperable.

If this doesn't fix the problem in any way, I would recommend trying a new battery or AC adapter.

hope this helps

For MSI U160 netbook On power up goes to MSI screen with Press DEL key to run setup Press F11 ... Press F3 ... Does not respond to any of the above keys, will not depower and this screen remains...

none of these are of any help... the only way I have found for my computer to boot normally is with a live linux usb and let that take me to my original hard drive. As in I put the usb in, boot up, brings me to live usb prompt, I do nothing until it boots from hard drive and I'm stuck scratching my head at why this works.
