My camera won't take pictures ...button dosen't seem to work ...I can't use the lenses either?! Really worried!
It would help to know if the lens extends when you turn on the camera. Assuming it does and that you have made a setting error rather than a functional issue; reset your menu settings. If you do not have a copy of the L810 instruction manual, you can download it for free at http://cdn-10.nikon-cdn.com/pdf/manuals/coolpix/L810RM_CH(11)03.pdf. Go to page 65 and follow the reset instructions. If you still have the problem, contact Nikon Service at 1-800-645-6687 between 9AM and 8PM EST, Monday through Friday for a repair estimate and instructions.

Have you turned the lens aperture ring to the lowest value (32) and locked it with the little button thing?
Sorry if you know about this.

Is the switch on the side of the lens set to manual or auto? Sometimes it's the little things like this that we don't notice.

Honestly you guys! If you buy a new car, do you take your old carburetor with you and whack it on the new car?? Of course you don't. New cameras, particularly digital ones are designed and optimised to work with the lenses sold with them. F with F and D with D. Why pay the price for a D-SLR then try to use an old lens? Either buy an old camera second hand that is compatible with the lens, or buy a lens that is compatible with a camera. But don't whinge when things don't marry perfectly. MMOTPM Perth WA AUS
