SOURCE: Dyson DC15 Animal will not run in upright position, only when reclined. Power also does not seem to be all there. Any suggestions?

Hi Ian,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC15. If the cleaner doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, it's likely to be due to a blockage in the machine, or because the filter needs a wash.

The easiest way to locate and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

In normal use, the filter should be washed at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it.
