On a laptop, the "Num Lock" key has a function slightly different than the one it performs on full-d desktop keyboards. Activating "Num Lock" on a laptop usually transforms a set of central keys, including many letters, into number keys, allowing typists used to entering numbers on a keypad to type efficiently. While on desktop keyboards "Num Lock" usually has a dedicated key, on laptops it often shares a key with another function on MacBooks, for example, it shares the "F6" key and you must hold down the "Shift" or "Fn" key to activate it.
Look for the "Num Lock" key on your laptop's keyboard. This is usually near the top of the keyboard. If the key says nothing on it except "Num Lock" if that's the only function the key performs you can just press it to activate the lock; a light will probably go on somewhere to indicate that "Num Lock" is on. If the key has multiple functions, you'll have to hold down a different key while pressing it. Hold down "Shift" and press "Num Lock" if the writing saying "Num Lock" appears above some other writing on the key, the way various symbols appear above the numbers on the keyboard's number row. Hold down "Fn" and press "Num Lock" if the writing saying "Num Lock" appears in a different color often light blue that's shared by the "Fn" key.
Boot to your Bios and look in advanced for num lock and disable.

Your "Num Lock" is on. Look for the num lock key (it's similar to the "caps lock" key in function) If the "num lock" is blue, you may have to hold a blue "fn" key when you press num lock
There's is probably a light at the top of the keyboard that'll tell you when num lock is on.
Number lock, a situation where numbers instead of letters are typed is as a result of the digital lock being active. to deactivate pressing the Fn+Numlk or Fn + Shift +Numlk keycombinatioins
These keys are on the same column to the right of the keyboard, so it may be a num lock issue. Try toggling num lock on your keyboard to see if there is any difference. You can do this, usually, by holding the Fn key and pressing another key with the num lock label at the same time.
The only other two things i can think of are dirt underneath this particular column of keys, or a fault in the keyboard itself (which usually warrants replacement)
