We have a Kitchen Aid double oven that is nearly a year old (builder installed.) We ran the self cleaning option on both ovens (top first) for the first time and now the lower oven no longer works. The upper oven works just fine. Any ideas?

First, I would not delay in notifying your builder by phone and then follow up in writing so that you have a record that you have told him about the problem. Your stove may still be under warranty. He should be able to direct you to filing a claim. One question though, does your oven have a "Sabbath Mode" setting? If so, that could interfere with the regular operation of the oven. What style and model number is the oven?

I am in the process of cleaning my Whirlpool self cleaning oven and it seems like there should be about 2 hours left on the timer and when I came out to the kitchen the timer was off and the door is still...

most likely the safety latch got stuck from the super heat of the oven while cleaning. try tapping the latch with a screwdriver and hammer, spray a bit of wd-40 on it wont hurt. i believe the self cleaning on ovens is crazy, as the heat damages things, including the finish of the unit.

Kitchen Aid Superba Double Oven

Remove the oven from the wall. Remove the rear panel.
The upper and lower ovens have a non-resettable thermal fuse that has blown.
Use a VOM to verify which fuse. After repair use Easy Off, not self clean.

Self cleaning

Sometimes, according to what I've seen.  My theory is that the elements are probably covered in grime and this causes the damage.  As far as the control...I don't think that makes sense.
Never use cleaner on the elements..also causes damage.
A typical duty cycle for cleaning is 2- 2.5 hours.  Longer and you could burn them up, too.

I have a Kitchen Aid Oven. I self cleaned it and when it was clean It did not work. Can you tell me why or how I can repari it.

there are thermal overloads in the back of the oven, if this is a built-in, you will have to remove the oven from its space and take the case off of it.
