If the error in connecting to the internet or to a LAN is prevalent with all network adapters, reset the TCP/IP Protocol stack byrunning the following command from the command prompt window:
1. Go to start menu and click on run.
2.Type in cmd.exe and press enter.
3.In the command prompt window,type in the command:
netsh int ip reset C:\connlogreset.log

The command will reset the TCP/IP protocol stack to it's defaults, and the reset data will be logged in the text document connlogreset.log.

You will probably need to edit the wvdial.conf file a little so that you are using the right connection parameters for your internet service.
If those URL's did not help, please follow this procedure:
Step 1: Open Terminal from "Applications->Accessories->
Terminal"
Step 2: Run the following commands (copy-paste each line below to the Terminal then hit <enter> after each line)
ifconfig
sudo lshw -C network
lspci -nn
lsusb
uname -a
dmesg | grep USB
Step 3: Post results (cut/paste terminal output from each command) here
Step 4: Provide us with the full model and make of Huawei modem. What is the exact model number? Does it connect to the PC using a serial-to-USB converter?

Try This,

Go to the command line and while connected to your modem type the following:

(Wait for each command to finish)

c:> ipconfig /release
c:> ipconfig /renew
c:> ipconfig /flushdns
c:> ipconfig /registerdns

Then attempt to browse one of the sites you were having trouble with.

If that does not fix the problem, then you will need to disable Norton Internet Security temporarily to see if that is causing your problems.
