The dvd's won't eject because a sticky residue is keeping it from ejecting. How can we safely take it apart to clean it?

SOURCE: I have an AudioVox D1020

The PCB board for the CD controls has slid out of its bracket slightly into the pathway of the CD.

Open the DVD player, there are 3 screws on back corners and one on the bottom. Use a penny in the slots where the speakers go and gently separate the back from the front, but only very slightly. Be cautious now, because there are several wiring bundles between the front and the back. Reach into the gap, at the top where the CD control buttons are, find the PCB for the CD controls and gently push it back into place. Put the front and back together, power up and see if you've cleared the pathway.

I would open it up, you can turn the cogs etc by hand on most models, to release the disc.

How do I get a dvd out? the eject button wont eject the disc..

Ah! This is an easy fix! All you need is a bigger sized paperclip or something of that sort. You bend out one piece of the paperclip (a 90? angle) and push the paperclip Straight in the little tiny hole you can see on the disc door or next to the door. It will manually turn the gears to roll out the door.

I can't get my DVD disc to eject. It will play but won't eject? Any suggestions

You should try unplugging the DVD player from its power source then plugging it back in. Now try to open it and if that doesn't work than you'll probraly have to take it apart to get the disk out but sometimes the DVD players can get worn out or if you have a cheaper DVD player it might just be freezing up on you. I have had these problems before. I just took the DVD player apart to get my disk and then trashed it.

DVD trying to eject

I just took my West. DVD 40" apart
Very cheap DVD player inside.
Fixed one problem - the felt glued down to inside of DVD player to keep DVD from getting scracthed when inserted inside the player came off and was binding DVD - this may cause DVd to want to eject - I am calling Westinghouse to see if they will send me a new DVD player to install.
DVD has gotten louder over the past few of it's 20 month life as well - to an unacceptable level.
