WST3501 Problem My WST3501 Microwave tends to turn itself on at random times. Sometimes when I come back home the microwave would be on and working on its own. After the first incident, I've made it a habit to unplug the microwave whenever I go out. A strange thing happens whenever I plug in the microwave. As soon as I plug it in, the microwave begins to run as if it was heating something. If I open the door, it stops. But as soon as I close the door, the microwave keeps on running again, and it won't respond when I press either the "STOP" or any other buttons on the touchpad. I have to wait a while before the microwave starts functioning normally again---"normal" meaning that it will not spontaneously start running when I close the door. Does anybody know what is wrong my microwave? Samsung microwave starting by itself

    My Samsung microwave model #MW1025WB starts by itself at random time. I would like to know what the caused of the problem. The microwave is not abuse in anyway it is only 3 1/2yrs old. Any suggestion in resolving this problem will be grateful. Its too new to write it off as damaged good.

    I tried unplugging it, waiting and plugging back in. Still not working. It also did this twice before, but then miraculously started to work again. This is the 3rd time

We have had problems like this before. Most likely the smartboard is defective.Check with manufacture to see if there is a recall.You should be able to find them on the web.

I have a Westinghouse microwave WST3501 and need a longer electric cord..any suggestions ?
A person with electrical experience can splice in an added amount of cord, but I would not recommend any more cord than needed, since too long a cord can affect the current and possibly lead to overheating and damage.

And I do NOT recommend permanently running a microwave off an extension cord. That's very dangerous.

POSSESSED MICROWAVE!
wow.......... an exorcism may be in order.......Sadly your microwave circuitry is malfunctioning which is a costly repair. I would seriously consider trashing that possessed unit and purchasing a new one. the new ones are greener too, use quite a bit less electricity

Is it possible that some spray cleaner accidentally got into the controls?

Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.

I always recommend that users spray the cleaner on a soft cloth (not on the keypad itself) then wipe the control panel off.

Also, I always recommend non-ammonia cleaners since ammonia can crack and damage plastic.
