Forgot password i forgot the password my dlink 2640t i dont want to reset can any one help me

You need to log into the dlink router and look at the Wireless Security and you will see the password. To get into the router you will need the ip address of the router, the default user id and the password. You manual will give you this info if you do not know it.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Dlink Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals.

The IP address to put in your browser to get into the router is: 192.168.0.1

The default userid is: admin

There is not default password, so leave it blank.

the default dlink password is password or 1234
if that doesn't work then the password has been changed and you will need to reset the router to factory defaults. hold the reset button for 30 seconds while powered on.

This is too involved to just post your router settings. I would recommend reading up on how to "cascade" your router or to make your Modem/Router act as a bridge.

The dlink will need to have its DNS disabled and have the Linksys do the DNS. Then the LInksys will be using the Dlink as its host. you may be better off seeing if you can make the dlink run in Gateway mode instead of router mode.

Then see how to implement the cascading router with your particular situation and WAN IP.

If you didn't change it the default is leave the login blank and the password is admin
If you did change it then all you can do is reset it to factory defaults

Power off the router by pulling power cable. Press and hold the reset button which is located on the back next to the WAN port plug the power cable while continuing to hold the reset button for 5 seconds

deffault ip is 192.168.1.1 no login... password is admin

Dlink has stopped production and support on that particular product. Really need to dive in self and figureout resetting and configuration

This looks it can be done from console.

To go into console you need console cable connected to your switch and computer.

Start hyper terminal, by going to start-run- type "hypertrm" hit enter.

Try using the psadmin software to do a factory reset. If it demands a password to do this, try using "SYSxxxx" (where xxxx stands for the last four digits of the MAC address written on the underside of the server. If you don't have the psadmin software you may be able to download it off the internet. After doing the reset you will need to follow the Quick Install Guide to set up the server. As an initial info try to do a hard reset on the unit, this process will restore the system into a original settings. you can find the reset switch on either on the left of right sight of your router.

or

you may visit this SITE to recover again your current password without erasing or removing the current settings made.
