Omnibook XE3 on a go slow

I have an Omnibook which is getting slower and slower. It's getting to the point where it is unusable. It also squeals after about an hour and halfs usage and freezes so I then have to turn it off for an hour or so before I use it again. Is there anything that can be done about this?

Yes first you have to check whether it is having a problem with RAM or hard drive. Remove temp files by doing a disk cleanup. Run an updated version of a virus scanner to check for viruses.
Then you have to get the task manager and go to processes and check for the CPU process. Check whether it goes to 100% usage. go to performance tab and check for available physical memory(It has to be >100mb free at least)
Then Right Click on My Computer and go to manage. Then select device manager and chck whether there are any ? marks in the color yellow.
If so there may be a device failure. Then using device manager, go to disk management and check whether they are healthy.
If not you may have to do run a check disk. You can do that using properties and by moving to tools tab.
Select the recovery options also.
If there are any memory problems, the system will be restarting continuously.
Last thing is examining the Event Viewer from the device manager.
Go to system and also application log files. All the errors and failures have been recorded there. If there is any one of those rtoubles let us know. Thanks
