SOURCE: i have an HP laptopand a linksys wireless

I want too so here we go keep it away from the microwave LOL You may need to explain to me your isp provider because Like a house everyone has a door If it is a 802.11b you may need to get up too speed with 802.11g or 802.11n These are range based systems if you see lights on the router and internet is lit its works now you are there anywall between you and the router yes means rf interuption
like electrical or concrete walls (Bunker LOL) you need to look at the receiver on the laptop first start next to the router (PS make sure your the admin) establish connection and start walkin around or goto this site and Find what they didnt tell you.

SOURCE: HP 550 - Unable to detect just a particular wireless network

Given all the circumstances, I can only guess that, for some inexplicable, apparant reason, your network card in your computer is the culprit. Try to get a friend who has the same model to swap cards with you, then you'll know for sure. The other problem could be something to do with the signal and some slight anomoly that is causing your card a problem in detecting it. A communications signal is complicated, and some wireless modems have better circuitry than others, depending on the model. But no matter how we speculate, this is just one of those Twilight Zone enigmas! Best of luck- tricky problem, for sure.

My HP Probook 4720S has a very wierd problem. The wireless card seems to be working properly, and the drivers are up to date. However it cannot detect the wi-fi in my office.Other laptops are connected so...

If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem then - To connect to your wireless router, the router needsits wireless settings to be configured with the SSID, encryption key etc., alsothe wireless cards and wireless adapters in all the laptops/computers needs tobe configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router and access the Internet via the DSLor cable modem.
If the other laptops are connecting to the wireless router, then look at the wireless card configuration in these laptops and apply the same settings to your HP Probook wireless card.

Hp wireless assistant problem

Is your wireless network working fine? If yes, it is better to close HP Wireless assistant program as windows has inbuilt program to detect the WIFI connections. You can type "msconfig", go to startup and close the required process. It should stop.

Is there a blue light to show that the wireless is active on the laptop? If not, switch the wireless connection on once windows has loaded. It may be that you have a faulty connection between the wireless card and the motherboard. Check out this link:

Hp wireless assistant 3.00 C2

Hi,

You may install a different version but it is not guarantee that it would work. I suggest to connect your system to an ethernet cord (wired connection) then click on the link below..

http://tinyurl.com/6jlcth

You should see there Start Detection - it will automatically detect the system driver you have. You should select the operating system then you may reinstall the network driver then.

Keep me posted.

Thanks
