Is asking for password when coms on forgot it

There is usually a jumper on the motherboard that you can remove to clear BIOS settings including password if the password is a request of the BIOS. If it is a Windows or other operating system that is asking for password you are probably going to have to reload operating system. Look on motherboard for small jumper with the word BIOS imprinted next to it. Make sure power is off, remove jumper and restart pc. When BIOS comes up do not set password protection. Shut pc down, replace jumper and your bios settings should be fine. Good luck

Bios free

If you are saying that you turn the computer on and nothing happens at all then you have to send it back to the manufacturer. If the computer wont show a bios screen, there is no way to reload it.

Password is forgotten. I can get passed the booot up screen. I cant get into the boot menu or setup with out the password. please help

You will have to do a hard cmos clearing which will load your bios back to it default value. 99% of the time if will clear the password. In order to do this, you may have to tear your laptop apart just to get to the cmos battery which is located on your laptop motherboard somewhere. Once you located your cmos battery which is silver/nickel size of a nickel, you need to take this battery out for a few minute and then reinstall it back, then put your laptop toghter and then it will clear the bios and reload to it's default setting.

My acer aspire one crashed and i need help

Below are the steps for the resetting of the password. Below the steps is the link for the service manual. On page 113 is the picture of the jumper pads that need to be "shorted" to reset the cmos.

Steps for Clearing BIOS Password Check
If users set BIOS Password (Supervisor Password and/or User Password) for a security reason, BIOS will ask
the password during systems POST or when systems enter to BIOS Setup menu. However, once it is
necessary to bypass the password check, users need to short the HW Gap to clear the password by the
following steps:

• Power Off a system, and remove HDD, AC and Battery from the machine.

• Open the back cover of the machine, and find out the HW Gap on M/B as picture.

• Use an electric conductivity tool to short the two points of the HW Gap.

• Plug in AC, keep the short condition on the HW Gap, and press Power Button to power on the
system till BIOS POST finish. Then remove the tool from the HW Gap.

• Restart system. Press F2 key to enter BIOS Setup menu.

• If there is no Password request, BIOS Password is cleared. Otherwise, please follow the steps and
try again.

NOTE: The steps are only for clearing BIOS Password (Supervisor Password and User Password).

Updated the system BIOS, now cannot get into the BIOS Setup

If you can still boot from your operqating system, try reloading the BIOS. Make sure that you load the correct version found from the manufacturer's website. You can also try reloading the version before the one you reloaded.

Cant do anything my computer wont go to the os

Hello,
What you need to do my friend is remove the CMOS battery, then remove the power cord from the computer. Press the power button on the front of the pc, you might at this point see a temporary flash of the power LED (at this point the cmos /bios is now cleared and reloaded with the defaults.
Next, put the battery back in and then the power and boot to the bios. Just reload all settings as needed and you should be back in business!!!

New motherboard will not boot from cd.

Nope, just goto bios menu and look for line First Boot Device then select CDROM, or scroll to have CDROm in the selected first boot device.

Restoring factory setting

You can reinstall the system disk if it came with one. If not, Acer can provide you with one. If it is under warranty they will do it at no charge.

It is a good idea to back do a up before reinstalling -- just in case there is a problem.
