My desktop is not booting past the System is
Hi. I hope this helps, as this happens to alot of pc's.
Most pc's bois has what is called a "wait" state. Sometimes, it gets stuck in this "wait" mode and you have to "unfreeze" it.
Here is what you do.
First unplug your pc for about a minute without doing anything else to it.
Next, without it being plugged in, push and hold the power button, and continue to hold it for 45 seconds.
Next, release the power button, and plug pc back in.
Usually, this will unstick your pc, if not then there is a part failure issue going on.
To find this out, girst remove memory chips one at a time, and try rebooting, if it frees up that way, then one of the memory modules are faulty.
If that doesn't do the trick, then move on to the next thing, sound card, dvd drive, hard drives, this may take a little time, but in the end, if it is a faulty part, you will be able to sort it out.
I hope that this helps you today.
