SOURCE: flashing red light on my battery pack charger

Hey, I just had this problem with a Sanyo battery pack (and i thought it was the non-sanyo Li battery) and noticed it wasn't getting warm even 2 hours after "charging" and the red light was flashing - so i turned it off, disconnected the cable from the charger and realised it could go the other way, so tried that AND IT WORKED! i don't know what that cable is called, the 2-prong black cable, but give that a go (turn off in between!).

SOURCE: Radio won't charge!

I don't know that I have your solution, but I do have a few troubleshooting tips.

Flashing typically means: your battery is possibly old, bad or is not making good contact. Clean your battery contacts with a pencil eraser to ensure they are making good contact with the charger. Also check your charger contact to see that they are free of debris. They can also be carefully cleaned with an eraser. (Do not use any type of solvents on either contacts.)

Second, check the date code on your battery. It is 3 or 4 digit number on the label. Batteries last approx. 18-24 months before starting to fail. Here is how to read the code: 835 would be 2008 the 35th week. If the battery is more than 2 years old, you should consider replacing it.

It is wise to have your radio turned off while on the charger. You can cause harm to the radio if you inadvertently press the PTT while the radio is on the charger. Plus, your radio will never fully charge if left on.

SOURCE: Dewalt battery charger won't charge

As you know, solid red on your charger means that the battery is fully charged and the BLINKING red light means the battery is charging. Unless the light is blinking irradically everything is working the way it is supposed to. If the light is blinking irradically, the battery may just be too hot or too cold to charge ( like when you are driving many lags and your battery dies) and in this case simply wait 15 minutes to charge. If you get a fast blinking light still, the problem probably is with the battery.

SOURCE: I purchased a new charger for my Dewalt Cordless Drill

They usually have a little pic on there that tells you what the blinking means. I think it is charging, but sometimes it needs a green light too. Check it out. Mine flashes all kinds of signals, when it hits a dead battery, one that won't charge, it flashes something else. It only takes an hour to charge. Is the battery getting charged at all? Hope this helps.

SOURCE: charger light blinks red never

Worx has had issues with their chargers and their batteries. They don't seem to last as long as the machine does. A simple voltmeter test of the charger and any battery will tell the story. The charger's output rating should be printed on it and the battery also. Touch test leads from voltmeter to the two and check.

Can I use the charger with the 220 in UK ?

Unless it is rated for 220-50/110-60, you will need the converter. Besides the 110V US plugs won't plug into the 200V UK outlets.

Will my 240v charger work on 110v

Can't say for certain, but there are specific 110V and 220V versions of DCB101.
None are labelled 90-220VAC as would be normal for universal voltage equipment.
If you operate 110V equipment on 220V then you will most likely damage it with overvoltage.
If you operate 220V equipment on 110V then you will most likely damage it in over current or have it simply not work.

It is possible that the charger is universal, just not labelled as such.
Send DeWalt an email.

Dewalt de0245

These de0245 chargers are designed to detect certain problems that can arise with battery packs which would be indicated by the red light flashing at a fast rate.

If this occurs, re-insert battery pack. If problem persists, try a different battery pack to determine if the charger is OK. If the new battery charges correctly, then the original pack is defective and should be returned to a service centre for recycling.

If the new battery pack gives the same trouble indication as the original, have the charger tested at an Authorised Service Centre.

I have a DCB 101 dewalt 20V charger new and there is a red light flashing first time using it. Wondering if it.s normal and also I am looking for a free download of the owner Manual for a DCK294L3 kit...

The Dewalt charger's red light will flash while charging and go to steady red when the battery is fully charged. If you go to the Dewalt ServiceNET site at http://servicenet.dewalt.com/ you can search for the manual for any of your tools. DCK294L3 does not have a manual as that is the model number for the whole kit. Search for the model number of each of your tools and you can get the manual for them. Inside the manuals it also describes the different meanings of how the red light is flashing on your charger.
