Make sure the primary ribbon setting in the driver is on the appropriate setting (graphics tab when accessing via Windows' "Printing preferences". Also, when checking/changing this setting via Windows, be sure your logon ID has Windows Admin rights - standard users are blocked from making driver adjustments.
The only other things I can think of, and that we've seen, is that the main logic board on these printers can begin to exhibit erratic behavior with age. The Pebble3 is a VERY old printer, and is fully out of support now by the manufacturer. If it's a failing/failed logic board, it may be time to consider a replacement.
It sounds like your ribbon setting in the printer-driver is set to the R2011 (or R2211) K ribbon. It should be set to R3011 for the full-color YMCKO ribbon. Check by locating the printer in the Windows Devices & Printers view (Win7: Start Button => Devices and Printers; WinXP: Start Button => Printers and Faxes). Locate your Pebble printer; right-click; select "Printing Preferences". Check your ribbon setting here and match to the ribbon that is loaded. NOTE that you can only make changes to this driver setting if you have Windows Admin rights with your Windows log-in ID. If you don't, have your systems administrator assist you with this by logging in with their ID.
