Make sure the fan cables are plugged in on the motherboard. Or the cpu fan may have went bad and needs to be replaced.

Orange blinking light means a component failure.
I had a cooling fan failure and this caused the orange light. When there is a failed fan the other fans RPM is increased to compensate. Is the server fan noise excessive?

if you see lights get on Keyboard.. your motherboard is fine.. else it is your Keyboard or Super I/o Chip that is not working..

I had the same issue here, we have 20 offices all running Dells. These fans seem to be used only on dell systems.

You should first check to make sure the fan is working. Just open it up and turn it on and see if the fan is functioning properly. If not then you can just order a replacement fan from Dell.

well your fan that sits on the CPU is not working properly and or the system fan...So you will have to get them replaced because the sytem know it will run hot if not replaced..you can go to a computer repair store near you and take the computer with you so they can open it and look at the fans and give you a price range or you can call dell because if it is new then its still under warrenty to get it replaced

if you have tried changing the fan then the problem is with the motherboard & motherboard needs to be replaced.

Sad to say but this model dell uses a specific fan made for dell. Unless you want to modify your cpu cooling system you will need to contact dell for a system specific replacement part. Hope this helps.
