I recommend that you first try replacing the power cord, if that doesn't work try replacing the power supply.

How do i reset the

Resetting the power supplies isn't necessary. Once one of the ptwo power supplies fails, the second power supply automatically takes over. Also, there isn't a need to power down the system to change the supplies as long as you change them one at a time.

Disk 4 "is not ready"

> it does detect it on controller initiation. Even when the drive is not spinning, it will identify itself (manufacturer, capacity) when queried. So, it's possible that it "checks-in", but files/directories on it cannot be read.

CDROM and with a bootable CD is not been detected

Same solution as posted before if you need to boot from a DVD: take a Dell laptop CD/DVD combo drive, remove the screws and all and exchange the PowerVault CD drive unit with it. Same internal connector. Can't remember what model I stuck in, but I had to keep the front panel of the drive since it was slightly different, I probably could have glued it, but.... That's a server machine no one is ever going to see but me! :)

That also gave me a CD-Burner which is a decent addition in case you need to quickly burn a CD/make a backup/boot disk (like a "ultimate Windows CD" boot to fix anything that could go wrong).

My dell poweredge 2600 wont load up

  1. Can you access the Bios configuration on boot by pressing F2? Check the setting
  2. By load up do you mean your server software does not boot? use F10 on post from the utility partition main menu under Run System Utilities.
  3. Is the server working with RAID? Press CTRL + R and check the RAID
I am not going to say check all the cables because I am sure you will have already?!?

Orange light keeps blinking on my dell poeredge

Orange blinking light means a component failure. I had a cooling fan failure and this caused the orange light. When there is a failed fan the other fans RPM is increased to compensate. Is the server fan noise excessive?

Disk 0 fails so no boot disk on the server

If you have a RAID remove all the drives use some canned air in the RAID cage and replace the drives. Turn the unit on and listen to the drive(s). Are they spinning? Are they making a clanking sound? (bad) if both are bad you will have to replace them and restore from a backup. If you have a single boot drive do the same thing listen. If you have spin but still fails check the sas or sata cable. Unplug it then plug it back in of both sides with the power off.If still no good the drive might be bad and you will have to replace it and then restore from a backup.Hope this helps.
