I have a k-4436-aa kholer toilet. it is only 2 years old and I already have problems with it. it flushes fine, but it takes way too long to refill. it does not have a standard flapper, it has a canister flush valve design. the fill valve is fine. it seems like that water is leaking somewhere but i can not see any movement in the bowl. any suggestions? I read one solution suggested to flush the toilet and hold the lever for 2 minutes to pressurize the system!!! thanks

You need to replace the flapper and you will need to purchase one specifically for the Kohler toilet. I have the same toilet and tried using a generic flapper and from experiance, it didn't work until I bought the correct one and I'm a plumber! Have a great night.

Hello. Your toilet is leaking through the flush valve. This is a serious issue as it will use a huge amount of water every day. Check to be sure there is not an obstruction in the tank and if you can not find one, call the plumber. J.
